Or look on PureZC LI's quest page where it prominently displays the link to the Mac Build.

Well I died in the floor 3 fight room(left side of floor 3, right side would have been the puzzle route), so no more 0 game. Was fun while it lasted though. Beat the boss without getting hit again, and didn't die on twin statues like I thought I would(came close though).

For those that like to play with the latest betas of ZC, I can confirm that ZC Build 613 (latest Mac build I'm aware of) works 95% well. However, it's the 5% (mostly at the end) where there are some changes. In terms of pure experience, though, it's hard to argue with the LI build.

For those that also wonder: I have to recommend the LI build to play DFW's Origin. Lost Isle is complete-able, but not Origin in the current builds. Whenever bombs are picked up, you see the counter go up +4. However, the bombs do not show up in the inventory. Other items do, though. I am wondering if it has to do with some recent changes to allowing different bomb increments, since changing the location of the selectable items in inventory had no effect (I could select the Candle no problem).

Unfortunately, I am still new to the builds myself, and so my reasoning might be wrong. I need someone else to check.

I can't find the first dungeon - I have the bow, and I've been traveling in the swamp now for a while. I keep running into these huge rocky skull things.

If you have the arrow to you can shoot the mouths of the statues near them and the skull rocks go away. Take note that for the 2 blue ones you need to get either the level 5 item, or the master dome item.

Haven't had any real chance to play today, I'll try to resume the 3 heart run tomorrow.

So your 0 game run turned into a 3 heart run? Pretty impressive still. icon_smile.gif

Oh and people, please do not PM me with Lost Isle related questions unless they contain spoiler-ish material. It's okay to ask help privately if you want to know how to beat a boss or how to find a well hidden secret, but if you want to know basic stuff like where the other key of Lv2 is or something like that, please post here. My PM box is constantly full. icon_razz.gif
Thanks.

It was nothing but a 3 heart run to begin with, I didn't actually expect to get as far as I did without dying. And with how well I'm doing, I see no reason not to try the catacombs and master dome, which means there wouldn't be a 0 game anyway.

well if anyone can do a 3 heart run, than all sorts of crazy 'self-challenges' should be possible with Lost Isle! XD

Hmm, I think I might need a path to the flame chip. I actually managed to get the nightmare key first, and now I'm just going in circles everywhere I go. The damn red panels block me no matter which way I try to go to get to the upper right exit on floor 2, which I know leads to the flame chip. Turning the power off won't work because I need the arrow platform, which requires that the power be on.

Look for a bombable wall in the lab on the right side to lead to the power on/off generator which will help you reach the card key.

Actually what I was having trouble with was the red light puzzle. Apparently the red light near the start could be wanded but I had no idea. I though it was another one of the short cuts and I'd have to get behind the laser to activate it. I beat the mini-boss without medicine, kinda hard to learn something when it keeps killing you so fast, but, it's a hazard of playing with 3 hearts. I knew whatI was getting into. Once I learned him, I got passed phase 1 and 2 without being hit, the only real problem was avoiding the laser and bubbles at the same time in phase 3. But even then it wasn't so bad once I knew the pattern. Seems he stays in an attackable state permanently so I was able to take it nice and slow, avoiding the shots and bubbles.

What I'm stuck on now, is opening gate 2, I got 1, 3, and 4 though.

BTW- Nice touch with the grim reaper accosting the player after defeating the mini-boss.

Edit- tried looking for it, I think I just want the answer to where the switch to gate 2 is, I've seen the same rooms so many times now and no #2 switch.

The #2 switch is on the western edge of F1. You have to go to the second floor though and drop down to the correct hole in that one room where there are 4 holes on the corners of the screen... That was a bad explanation but I hope you get it.

I think I know which one, it's the one you have to use an aorrow platform to get to right?

Edit - Yeah, that was it, strange that I never noticed it before. I guess I was just so busy dodging the shock panels that I was too distracted, ah well, thanks

Edit 2 - major update on progress:

Hehe, nice, you found it and did beat the level. How many potions did you use for the Lv4 boss? I can't believe you managed to beat him... O_o
