It's crazy how changing a few aspects can dramatically improve the look of this character.

I prefer Nintendo's design. I like Link's tried and true original design, but I also like that Nintendo is going in a different direction. Zelda was beginning to feel stale (at least to me), and, from what I've seen, the stale bread of repetition is about to be abandoned (for the better).

It does look pretty awesome, but also kind of subdued and not colorful like the rest of the game. And I'm totally cool with the new outfit as well.

The green tunic Link does look cool, but like the others, I'm fine with the way Nintendo designed him. ![]()

Like I said; take his words with a grain of salt because that was Link in the trailer.
"Actually that comment I made jokingly," he said. "It's not that I said that it wasn't Link. It's that I never said that it was Link. It's not really the same thing, but I can understand how it could be taken that way. It seems like it has kind of taken off where people are saying 'oh it's a female character' and it just kind of grew. But my intent in saying that was humour. You know, you have to show Link when you create a trailer for a Zelda announcement."

His outfit looks a lot like Wind Waker Link in his Outset Island clothes. I wonder if that means anything...

Also all these silly comments about Link looking girly make me want to head desk. Considering he represents the player I think it is logical that he should have some feminine in him, considering there are players that are female. I think it's win-win.

By that logic, Girahim would make the ultimate player model for any spiritual representation of the player, for any game ever, including the likes of Pokemon. Why choose genders when you can play as a sword~

I don't understand what you're saying. You're playing as Link, Ghirahim isn't playable, so he's represented how the creators felt like representing him.
EDIT: Ghirahim REALLY doesn't look feminine in any way, he's just has a creepy design. ![]()

But he wasn't developed to be an "avatar", and has a personality, so I honestly fail to see your point. Also it's Ghirahim. ![]()
But of course, that is interesting food for thought. Not sure if everyone would wanna play as Ghirahim though.

Not sure what to make of this, if this was actually gameplay filmed from a different angle or if that's just his way of saying it ran on the game's actual engine. Personally I think it's the latter based on earlier comments from another source and the fact that I highly doubt there'll be a button for "throw off cloak." Dunno. We'll see.
Oh, this was clearly not running on a Wii U, you can see that by simply looking at the resolution - it's way too sharp. No, this was rendered on a PC most likely, but most games shown at E3 does this.
That big shot of the open world, I have a really hard time believing that the final game will actually look that pretty when running on a Wii U in your livingroom. It's probably not going to look drastically different, but I don't think you're gonna see all the particle effects going on, especially not that far into the background, and you're also going to see a reduced draw distance where objects such as trees will load once you get closer to them.
The section with Link jumping off the horse and fighting Doctor Octopus was also not actually gameplay, like some of you have pointed out. Until we see a section of the game played through with a camera behind Link's back, I'm not going to trust that this trailer was completely representative for what the final game is going to look like. But again, this is an E3 trailer, so it's not like Nintendo would be the only ones to pull that move.

Totally understand your cynicism but Nintendo doesn't really have a history (as far as I can recall) of being shady like some of the others have been. Granted there's a first time for everything though. But again, this is an E3 trailer, so it's not like Nintendo would be the only ones to pull that move.
