Okay, two things.
First of all, I haven't watched the Pokemon anime in years. What's this "synchro" thing you mentioned?
Second, the PokeDex is able to talk, and has a Pokemon inside of it. What do you want to bet that at least one point in the plot involves using the PokeDex to translate what a Pokemon is saying? Also, since it can talk, does that mean that we get a voice clip for the description of each Pokemon, and we can use it like Ash does in the anime mid-battle? It would add a more interactive dynamic than it automatically adding data after seeing/catching a Pokemon, having to remember to actually pull it out and analyze the opponent Pokemon mid-battle. If so, would it be a better if it was a no-time-needed action, or if scanning the opponent Pokemon actually used your turn because you were too busy to give your Pokemon a command? It could add another bit of strategy in trying to weaken or immobilize the opponent (put it to sleep, paralyze it, etc.) so you don't get nailed while trying to scan it.
I've got to catch up. The last Pokemon game I played was Black/White. I still need to play Black 2/White 2 and X/Y before I can get to this one. Even worse, I had gotten the idea a while back to start at the beginning of the series and compile all of my Pokemon via PokeGen/PokeSav as I catch them across all of the different games, so I'm still all the way back at Crystal as far as that goes.
