I actually enjoyed that one, dunno about the rest of you but I had a lot of fun and I love playing that game. It went far better than the last ra— I mean what race.

Aw, c'mon, Super Mario World didn't go that bad.

Indeed, it was a lot of fun. Glad to have been able to take part! (Even if I did forfeit toward the end and glitched my way to the end. >_<)

"Fuck-a you so much-a for to breaking my game!"

I'm sorry for continually quoting that but it's seriously my favorite thing

What?  That wasn't even scheduled for a time; I wanted to do that.

There's going to be another one for Zelda 1 with a bit more warning. A lot of people that are interested in it haven't raced. This one was impromptu because we wanted to include Eddy in on a race since time zones are wacky.

Edit: Also, I finished. It took forever, but I finished. So I'm not a complete embarrassment (only mostly)!

That's why you oughta stay in the group, so you catch impromptu races like that. :P

Found this glorious amazing gem today.  Gotta love arbitrary code execution.  Last one I saw like this was Pokemon Yellow, but dang, this just raises the bar.

The button inputs are actually game code.  And yes, this is a tool-assisted speedrun.

Anyone interested in doing a SMB 3 run? I can do one Friday afternoon (Pacific) and about all day Saturday and Sunday. I don't want to miss a SMB3 run, so if there are any plans, please post them here, because I don't check anywhere else. I used to be really good at that game, but using an emulator would be hard as I don't have a controller, so I have to use the keyboard. And if we were to do it, would we allow whistles, or would we have to complete all worlds. I have only beat the game three times by beating all worlds, once from beating every level I can.

I think we have a few people that'd be interested in doing a Super Mario Bros 3 race this Friday. No using warp whistles since SMB3 has the same "problem"* Super Mario World does as far as completion time if you do that.

I think we can tentatively shoot for getting people together between 7-8 PM EST since that has been the usual gathering time when we plan ahead.

* It's not a real problem with the game. I'd just like to at least get a 20-30 minute race as a minimum as a personal preference. People are definitely free to organize a warp whistle enabled race if they want.

Super Mario Bros 3 race this Friday.

Oh dear god... won't be joining this time. Gotta be heading out to visit people and again, starts when I'm asleep :P No worries, I'm awful at SMB3 and I won't have a chance anyway, and besides, not into that kind of game lol.

Oh btw, do you think we'll ever try an Any% of the Z1 2nd Quest?
