So remember how LttP ended with the Dark World being restored? Yeah, forget about all that, it's retcon time! Honestly, while I like the idea of making a LttP sequel, I'm really getting the feeling now that this is quickly turning into LttP Master Quest, with identical overworlds and story, just new dungeons. Hopefully I'll be proven wrong.
To back up what Russ is saying (don't quote me on this). After doing some research, the possibilities of this actually not being a sequel at all seems to become more apparent.
Though I still believe at face value that this is a true blue sequel, I must address the theories that surfaced an the evidence behind it.
Without dwelling on the details, or even providing an actual argument, let me remind you about Wind Waker 2?

Oh, Wind Waker 2 for GameCube, wasn't that a wonderful sequel?

- The company that pushes back release dates and keeps fans anticipating.
- The company that releases underdog systems that interestingly enough spark curiousity and inspire wonder.
- The company that made a fortune off cheap plastic bleached toys.
- The company who's control sticks for every N64 & GNC controllers gave out because of flimsy degradable "soft plastic" parts (I took apart many controllers).
- The company who seems to always say (the next Zelda will be the best). Despite the fact their best is behind them.
- The company that seems so confident that its believable.
To Nintendo, we love you for fucking with our heads and hired the best damn marketers who have mastered the human psyche. We love you.

It depends, the Dark World could be stilled purified, Link's just got to go there for the Triforce again or something. Or maybe they threw a Zelda cliche and made Ganon return for the billionth time to steal the Triforce which would suck, honestly. So remember how LttP ended with the Dark World being restored? Yeah, forget about all that, it's retcon time!
The official timeline already has weaknesses, why not throw in another one?

Dude, have you ever played an Elder Scrolls game? Or just anything that Bethesda has made? Stuff's buggy as shit because they don't move things back and do a more thorough job, and the people who pay full price for the games end up basically being the beta testers. I know their games are a lot bigger and therefore there's just too much ground to cover within a reasonable amount of time, but I'm glad Nintendo actually pushes back release dates a lot and ends up releasing their games with a lot less bugs. Sure, some slip through the cracks, like that god-awful one in Skyward Sword that I somehow dodged, but it's still way better than what a lot of people do. Constant patch updates to fix clipping issues, or a quest being incapable of being completed in Fallout because of a bug really sucks, and we often get left to mod and fix these issues ourselves. What's also nice is not having to remove content for the sake of a date. Wind Waker and Twilight Princess are both missing things planned from early development and it's really obvious.
Anywho, on the actual topic of ALttP2. I don't really care one way or the other about the dark world and its involvement with the story. I didn't play ALttP for the story. I still don't. I play it because it had like 12 mostly well designed dungeons (I don't like the Desert Palace, okay?), a hell of a fantastic fight against Ganon, and two great overworlds. So give us that this time. I got my fill of story and timeline from Skyward Sword.

New trailer, name revealed:
A Link Between Worlds. I like it. A shout-out to A Link to the Past while being different. I bet the "worlds" being linked are just light and dark worlds, but that's fine. Still, it should be fun, and I can't wait to play it. ![]()

If this artwork is any indication, Master Sword confirmed. So much for that beautiful ending line in the first game...
Slightly disappointed in the shield. I would have preferred an updated version of the original shield from A Link to the Past, but this is fine, I guess. Not as detailed as the OoT shield though, which is another disappointment. Ah well, it's still a neat artwork. And hey, Link's wearing pants! :tard:

Well remember, not even LTTP's shield sprites got it right XD. Why can't the sprites EVER match the artwork? It can't be THAT hard to be consistent.

Wow. Even that's more detailed than the new shield. And arguably much more interesting. Also, I haven't really caught site of the ALBW (that's a weird acronym) shield, but as for ALttP, well, it was a small sprite, can't ask for too much. ![]()

It looks like they're reusing the overworld, or at least part of it... If they do it well, then I say go ahead!
But of course, they could mess up, which would be a shame.
Also, if they have the Master Sword, it could still work with ALttP's ending line. Mabye it's actually a prequeland only a spiritual sequel. And then they'd have to introduce a new Link, rather than reusing the same Link for the Fifth game. They do like that Link.
