I don't know if I'm the only one who's had this problem, but when I try to open Zelda Classic, it doesn't open. It'll show the icon on the task bar for like a slit second while the computer screen flashes as if it were starting a program, then just stops. It doesn't launch at all.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about? If so, please help!
Do you happen to have a quest directory different from your ZC directory? If so, you need to move 1st.qst-4th.qst to it.

Sorry about that. icon_frown.gif

Do you mean the quest files for Zelda 1, the second quest, ect? I don't see how that'd fix it, but I'll give it a try! icon_smile.gif

What does allegro.log say?

I forgot to mention that a message popped up saying, "Publisher could not be verified" at the top, and, "This file does not have a valid signature that verifies its publisher". It looks like the message that always pops up when opening Zquest, but I never bothered to read it before icon_razz.gif

Oh. With your error message, I guess that's probably not the problem. Between RC3 and RC4 things were changed. Before ZC wouldn't start if the quest files for Zelda 1, etc. weren't in the ZC directory. I requested that be changed because ZC throws a fit if those quests aren't in the quest directory, requiring you to have to have those default quests in both directories to properly function.

So, there have been a few issues with one or two people not having those quests in their quest directory and ZC just not starting at all.

Oh, okay. I understand that. But if it's not the problem I'm dealing with, then what am I supposed to do? I am completely lost here icon_frown.gif

Doesn't that dialog give you the option to run it anyway?
Does running as an administrator make a difference?

It does give me the option to run it.
But what do you mean, "running it as an administrator"? You mean like a computer administrator?

Right-click > Properties > Compatibility. There should be a checkbox for it there.
There's a security tab in there, too; I don't know if anything in there would be useful.

That didn't work, but I took the files, and extracted them to another folder, and Zelda Classic was able to open. I'm not sure why it can't open in my original folder, but whatever.

Thank you guys for the help! Even if none of it solved to problem icon_lol.gif (I'm still very thankful for the replies!)

I think I just found a new bug...

Likelike enemies can't be hit with the sword if one latches on when you're facing right.

When I try to "jump" ahead in a MIDI (In the editor) with the ">>" and ">>>" buttons, it brings me back to the beginning of the song. Am I the only one?

Do you have the loop end set right? Maybe you're just jumping past it.
It doesn't recognize 0 as disabled, but it probably should.

Everything is set to 0.

Set it to -1, then. It should ignore 0, but it doesn't.

Is there any way to fix the shops so when you buy something, you can't go back in there while it's counting down and buy another item with rupees you shouldn't have?

Also, with the Item Dropsets. Is the minimum percentage for an item to actually drop 1% or could you go lower? I have one dropset that has an item that is around 0.5% of coming, but I haven't seen it drop while I've seen it drop when it was at 1%.

EDIT: Nvm on the dropsets, one finally came. Good to know it works now though.

EDIT2: Now this is odd, one of my walkthrough walls made ZC pretty much crash. It had solid Armos combos on the other side, but it worked fine in RC3. It's only at a certain spot too, if i'm slightly lower where I can still walk through the wall, then it doesn't hang up.
