Given the stipulations of the theorized Majora's Mask 3DS, I would just like to say...

OCARINA OF TIME IS THE GREATEST GAME EVER, NINTENDO PLEASE RE-RELEASE IT FOR THE 3DS AND MAKE IT AAAAAWWWWWEEESSSOMMEEE!

No sarcasm there. I've re-assessed the situation and I think I'd most likely buy this if and when it comes out.
If? What do you mean if? It's been confirmed since the first page of this topic -.-

It's just a phrase. I'm much more comfortable saying "if and when" than just saying "when". Just a habbit.

The gamecube versions are done via Emulation, thats how Master Quest was leaked iirc.

Wha? Leaked? Did I miss something?...

It's a moot point for my personal interest since I own OoT Master Quest on GC, but I feel there's some info I must have missed here....

Likewise, I have the GC version. But, I'm pretty sure you can download Master Quest as an N64 rom. I swear I've seen it before. I'd find a link and post it as an example, but that would violate Pure's rom rules. icon_razz.gif

Yeah, the N64 ROM was extracted from the Gamecube discs because the Gamecube versions are just run on N64 emulators developed specifically for the Gamecube. I believe that is where the N64 ROM originated from.

Aha. Okay, that makes some sense.

If the ROM were in Japanese, though, it could have been ripped from the extra quest's Japanese release on N64, which never made it here. But I bet people would notice if it were in Japanese, so as long as your sources are reliable, I'll believe it...

A while back there was a "debug" N64 ROM of Master Quest. It isn't a complete game, most of the content is broken much like the "beta quest" OoT gameshark code. But it, interestingly, contains a map selection screen from which you can go to some unreleased or developer areas. Pretty interesting. I've got a copy of it, but of course I couldn't upload or link it here.

It never made it to Japan either. It was proposed for the 64DD and likely mostly if not fully developed, but was never released due to the DD's poor sales.

Actually, I'm fairly certain the Debug ROM is a complete game. I think you only get the level select screen if you use save slot 1. On my own copy here, I started a game on slot 2, and nothing seems to be broken. Speaking of which, all (or most, anyway) of those "broken" areas are actually just variations on areas for use in cutscenes.

On the subject of OoT 3DS, I think I can say I'm fairly psyched. I wonder how different it's going to be than the original, and how much they're going to add?

I could've sworn I'd heard that it was released as an add-on like Majora's Mask. Oh well; it's all just hearsay anyway so what I was told could've been incorrect, just the same.

Anyway, regarding OoT3DS, I think Nintendo's shown a good track record recently when they used TP to give a tip of the hat to the old "Link vs. Ganon" E3 animation demo. They seem to realize that people remember the little tidbits and "cut" sections, and they get excited when those tidbits find their way into a game. I think it's possible we'll see some easter eggs that reference "cut" material from OoT, but only things that can be included without changing the spirit of the game too much.

Not gameplay footage. Just the intro. icon_blah.gif

Still cool, though. Though I see they changed the end of the intro to focus on the Hyrule Crest above the Castle's gate instead of going into the Kokiri Forest's entrance...

I think the correct term would be "in-game footage."

Nice, but video quality loses a lot by simply filming the screen of an actual 3DS.

Obviously the 3D effect was on ([/obvious]), but now I wonder what it would look like if they had filmed it with the 3D effect turned down or off. Obviously, nobody would be dumb enough to do that if they had a chance to see it in 3D, but still, I'm curious. icon_deformed.gif
