I think anything would be memorable if you visit that city as many times as you would normally do in any Pokemon game. I don't mind it. There's a theme that won't get stuck in my head when I play.

I prefer the stuff that gets stuck in your head. Not because I enjoy catching myself whistling Pokemon tunes in the grocery store, but because they're just more enjoyable in my opinion.

Eh... I can't really agree/disagree with you there... I know I hate getting the Lost Woods stuck in my head. (Do'h! Even just mentioning it does the trick!) But I don't mind getting musicals stuck in my head? Preference, I guess. But it's not bad to switch it up; after playing like 50 Pokemon games, I'm getting tired of the battle music. Sure, they switch it up sometimes, but it's essentially the same.

In regarding to the city music, the more i listen to it the more i see myself humming the tune because it's getting stuck in my head. It's like Oreburgh city in D/P/PT, the more you visit it the more catchier the tune gets.

Oh and GC, it'll be a blasphemy if they removed the opening of the battle themes.

Eh, I have to agree that some more unique battle music would be nice. Though it has to be something decent...Hoenn's was the most unique, but pretty much sucked.

Reeeally? I mean, I can understand where you're coming from-- nostalgia factor and all-- but really, how many years have we been listening to that? I turn the volume down when I battle because that music is so old it's become monotonous.

I wouldn't mind though if they changed it. As long as they make the battle music more Techno-esque. Techno fits Pokemon pretty well i think.

Contradiction?

I didn't suggest removing the battle theme music in my previous... previous post. Just to switch it up. Make it sound different.

The battle music definitely switches up between generations. Hoenn music is my favorite, personally, then Sinnoh.

But, back to the music, I seriously doubt that is the real tune... Pokemon Sunday only showed, like, 15 seconds of footage that actually had the background music playing, and somehow there's a 1:30 song? (even if it loops, how does 15 seconds turn into a 45 second song?) Also, the end seems very... er... similar to Route 104 from RSE. Compare:

:37 to :47 ("New Music")
:34 to :42 (Route 104, Hoenn)

Also, the new song is very lacking in instruments, in my opinion. After HGSS's almost orchestrated pieces (I really loved them), I dunno if they'd revert to such... low quality. If this does turn out to be the actual song, I'm going to be, not really disappointed, but not thrilled.

The new song just sounds to... thrown together. A bunch of notes that just follow each other on a keyboard doesn't equal "fun to listen to".

My two cents. ^^'

Take seven minutes out of your day and listen to those icon_razz.gif

Tell me that they're not the same basic tune. Because they are. Yeah, there are slight differences given the advances in technology and ****, but it's the same "Dun dun dun! Duuuuuuuuuuuun dun dun dun! Doo doo doo doo daaaaaaaaa" etc.

Every song should be a ragtime or smooth jazz.

Also, the best song in the entire game is the the diddy that plays when you're getting a tour from that old guy in the second town in Gold/Silver. Hands down, no question...

Though the elite four song is the most badass thing ever. Look it up on youtube for some epic piano arrangements of it.

I think the game is still in development so Junichi Masuda probably hasn't done the music that well. If you listen well at the pokemon sunday video you can hear 0:22 - 0:29 from the city music in the pokemon sunday footage.

Are you talking about the intro in every pokemon battle music? I don't really understand what you're trying to say. Are you talking about the same rhythm the music has?

If you don't understand what I'm trying to say after listening to it, then I don't know how else to explain it. Rhythm, yes. It all sounds the same to me. It has the same underlying rhythm with a few jazzy effects to it to make it sound different, but it's not. It's the same old classic battle music.

That one is in FireRed/LeafGreen, too. Either that or Sapphire... One of the two that I have on GBA. It's cute. icon_thumbsup.gif

I can kinda see what you're saying, GC, but I think you're relating the feelings of the songs rather than the actual music. I think that all the battle music has that certain "feel" to it. Like, the striking blare right when you find a pokemon (as the screen turns black), the "surprise", anticipatory notes right after (as the enemy appears), followed by a "reply" (usually taking place as your pokemon takes the scene), then a bit of softer, calmer notes before the actual, looping battle music begins (which are all fast paced, "rolling" tunes, which I kinda like icon_wink.gif ).

Though, maybe I'm just not listening hard enough... I did find a bit of similarities between the original RBY and GSC music, but not really much else.

...
Anyways, the only time I enjoyed that tour music was in HG and SS, where the guy seemed to actually have a personality! His running brought a smile to my face, it did. icon_razz.gif

Smooth Jazz people. Smooth Jazz.

Oh, and I'd also like to remark: People who use legendaries on their teams are dicks.

It's never fun to be winning a battle with guys you raised since they were little eggshells, only to watch them get blasted away at some idiots lv.70 legend who knows 4 moves that are overpowered.
