I am still trying to beat Level 1. I got the raft, compass and map. I can't find the big key or the boss. How do I open that blue and yellow chest. I think I need the big key, right? Can anyone help me? How do I move that big block with the eye on it so I can pass through that door?

You need a normal key to open the boss key chest, just like you needed a normal key to open the item chest which contained the Raft. Seems like you have missed one of the 2 keys at the level. Well, both of the keys are on B1. One is on the soutwestern part of B1 and one is in the middle of the water area.

Anarchy, I find it amusing that you hate Grasps so much. You're a super awesome player yet Grasps make you see nightmares... icon_wink.gif
But I agree about the under passage stuff and I will never do that kind of stuff in my future games anymore. I thought it was a nice idea, but I can now see that it can be a bit annoying.

Well I just hate losing a shield when there's a finite number is all. You can buy more later in the game, but it's 400 big ones. But yeah that's what I hated about level 2. It can still be done moderately without being annoying, just not excessively. I noticed what little bit it was done in level 4 did not bother me.

Yeah!! that what I'm talking about
all quest must have some of the original format
keep the goal and don't discourage the player
if you ever played "molka quest" ??<< you know what I'm talking about
the more progress you make,, the harder the game become
to the point, that you need to be "superman" to beat the game,, no link!!
despite this keep the original looking from first Zelda...
is no the same when you try to win the game
so many quest, are the same way today
more....

Okay so I tried to find the other key and I wasn't able to. I did find a chest that I can't figure out how to get to. It's the one where there is a gold block blocking the path and than there is a door to the south. I can't figure out how to get to that door and the chest.

Okay I figured out how to get the other key. After I slashed the vines in the hole that I went into I saw stairs. I didn't realize that those stairs led somewhere else. They led me to that chest that I couldn't figure out how to get to. Now I will be able to complete Level 1 finally.

Yeah, I know it won't last though which is why I'm posting it now. At the rate I'm going, I won't be able to resist trying the catacombs and master dome. Though I'll be doing it with red mail, I'll definitely not be zeroing the whole game. I wish I could say I didn't get hit on the dragon lich, but I did, my health is only full because of a medicine. But, beating him in 1 try with 3 hearts is still something to be proud of.

Indeed it is something to be proud of!
At what point are you in the game now with your 3 heart save file?

I'd be quite curious as to whether the level 4 miniboss is beatable with 3 hearts.
Its beam is very hard to avoid.

You'd need both potions to be sure, at least.

Level 3 with 2 keys gotten, and with all currently accesable side dungeons done.

Dude, people are calling level 1 hard. You know where there's like, keese and tribbles everywhere? It's kind of subjective anyhow, I may easily not find it so hard.

Edit - Hmm, level 3 miniboss took one try. He got 1 1/2 of my hearts, which is interesting because he got much more than that the first time through. I guess maybe I was just playing more recklessly or something. Then again, as I remember it, the twin statues were harder, maybe they'll get me
