The dirt looks great now. As for the sign, what you should do, is leave it with the dark bordering, but accent it with black in places, like the classic trees have. I hope you know what I mean, because I don't really know how to explain it at the moment.

So awhile ago I was working on a few GB screens, and this is what I came up with. I think it's a little bright, but I also didn't think it was worth it to make a custom palette just for these.

Moo2wo: Indeed a very solid shot, not very outstanding however. But I dont think that's a problem. Also, the pallet is just fine icon_smile.gif

I think this is a great looking GB shot! I'm usually a sucker for GB quests, and this looks pretty sweet, and very true to the GB games.

Yeah, we do, and it's a shame too. For a while, there were tons of GB Quest projects being worked on, but I haven't seen much of any of them for quite some time now. icon_frown.gif

The top mountains look mirrored in witch looks bad, as does the trees in the middle please brake both and the issue should be solved. The 2x2 tree is a bit bolded if that's the word use the other non-bolded version witch I know it's there. The grass edge I assume you made tiles look, odd - in lack of better words - maybe make it more rounded? Otherwise yes, it's a good classic screen.

EDIT: Also that fence doesn't look right to me I think another set would look better. I also dig you path tiles. (Pun?)

Well. hmmm... I guess I don't count for anything, hmm? I believe I've said numerous times, "I'm a sucker for a well-built classic quest" but nevermind, whatever... I guess the fact that I have my Flip First quest built with a modified classic tileset also doesn't matter... icon_sigh.gif

No one ever said classic shots can't look good, and if they did they're being silly.

That does not however mean yours is any good. I'm not gonna say it's bad either, but once again, all you show us is another very mediocre Yoshidude-screen. It just isn't interesting icon_shrug.gif And do you have some kind of fascination with small trees/bushes stacked in that particular order? I've already seen it on more than three of your screens icon_razz.gif Originality is key, Yoshibro, just be more creative with your design. Make interesting and fun worlds, not something that stinks of 'this is another zelda classic quest'. How, you ask? You put more time, and more importantly thought into your work. You are creating a new world for players to explore. Make it fun to explore, or else you might as well not be making a Zelda game, which of course gets a lot of its charm around letting players explore it's lands.

maybe I can drum up some support for my demo by letting Charlotte's screen get ripped apart....

That implies you were talking about the screen itself, and not the custom tilesm which by the way is, as far as I can see, only new dirt and fence tiles... which means they're about like, 10% of the full screen. And the screen itself isn't good either, as I have just explained icon_shrug.gif

I do have to say that this is an interesting idea for a quest tru. Is the whole quest like this, or just sections?
