I love your new picture you're using, TS. I couldn't stop laughing when I saw it.
Why thank you. This avatar is, as are most of my avatars, the product of possession. I get possessed with a bad idea and I run with it. That's how most of my avatars come about. icon_heh.gif

Anyways, Assassin's Creed III is great. But to help pace myself so I don't finish it too quickly, I decided to start Trials and Tribulations, finishing the first case. I'm assuming the creators expected players to have followed the series since the beginning, since even for a first case that was kind of difficult. Not as difficult as several other cases, sure, but still somewhat so.

I just realized that I am currently in the middle of actively playing Wild ARMs: Alter Code F, Kingdom Hearts 3D, Back to the Future: The Game, and Persona 3 Portable.

I really should learn to stick with something. icon_frown.gif But I haven't broken off any of those games in the middle... yet...
(Well, I think I have decided to postpone KH3D, but I'm continuing the other three pretty actively -- it helps that ALL of the games are on different consoles)

Anyways I'm looking forward to getting to the 4th game.

I got one primary game to play on each system I own:

360: Lollipop Chainsaw - This game is rather short. I'll probably be done with this very soon.
PS3: Jak and Dakster HD - Got the collection recently. I never played this series but it does remind me a lot of Crash and Spyro (when they were once good games)
Wii: The Last Story - I'm halfway through the game. I'm enjoying every hour it thus far.
DS: Pokemon White 2 - I recently beat Clay. Nothing more to say there.
3DS: Code of Princess - Almost finished with this game on Solange's Campaign mode. It got a lot harder as you progress through the game.
PSVita: Virtue's Last Reward - I only beat 2 of the Escape missions so far. I can't wait to go even further with the story.

Assassin's Creed III continues to impress, Trials and Tribulations is starting to fall flat. Honestly, I felt that apart from Turnabout Big Top, The Stolen Turnabout and Recipe for Turnabout are two of the worst cases in the series so far. Introductory cases are excluded, but I think I like at least two (JfA's and this game's) more than these two cases. Fortunately I have it on good word that the last two cases are much better, so hopefully that pans out well.

I'm not sure if it counts as spoilers since I'm just giving a very general idea of what to expect, but...

Spoiler

Nah, that's not really spoilers. I was already aware of that, though, and yes, I did actually like the first case, so here's hoping it all ties together well.

Holy cow, I played through 4 hours of Virtue's Last Reward today. Man its such an addicting game. When I played 999, I never invested this much hours in one day. I ended up getting one of the endings. All I can say is that if you own a 3DS or Vita and love mystery novels, then get this game now!

I've played 999 before and got all the endings. Really great story. Two things I want to ask. First, if this is supposed to be a sequel or something, does it continue the same story with the same characters? Second, does it play anything similar to the first game?

VLR is much better than 999 by leaps and bounds. You don't need to play 999 to understand the story. Only one character from 999 returns.

Alright, finished case four. So, all the pieces are in place, setting up for the final episode, eh? Hrm... Better put this in spoiler tags.
Spoiler

But Phoenix was researching this all because of something that had recently happened... Now I gotta get to the bottom of this— OH LOOK A PLOT TO KILL GEORGE WASHINGTON, I BETTER THWART THIS

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand now it's finished. Okay, so now I know why Phoenix was researching that old case. And I must say, wow, people weren't kidding, for that was really a damn fine case. Emotional, too. But... I still prefer Turnabout Goodbyes, case four in the first game. It was just so well-written, well set up, and had a great villain. Sure, Bridge to the Turnabout had a great story and the villain was good, but that kind of villain isn't exactly original. Manfred may not be either for all I know, but I liked him as a villain, and it felt good to get him at the end. Really good. Plus, while I've come to accept it, I'm still not really a fan of all the spirit medium mumbojumbo going on, and I like Goodbyes because it doesn't really focus on that (other than the obvious link with Misty Fey), and the whole case sounds very much like something that could actually happen in real life. Bridge... not so much.

But yeah, good case, far better game than Justice for All, not sure whether I prefer it to the original or not though. Cases two and three were pretty weak, even compared to Justice for All. While this had two interesting past cases (that were short) and then an awesome one in Bridge, the first game had two awesome cases (Goodbyes and Rise from the Ashes), and the other cases (other than the obvious easier-than-hell first one) were pretty strong too. So... I honestly think I'm giving the first game the nod as the best in my opinion. T&T really only holds the Psyche-Lock segment over it, but I can live without it.

Welp. I'm gonna put the series on hold so I can finish AC3, start that Layton game, then maybe dig into some other games or series I've been neglecting. Then I'll come back for Apollo Justice.

TS: Trying to recall the details of the tangled web that is the Phoenix Wright series is a bit beyond me at this moment, but I will say that the series really is prone to sticking in one or two "filler" cases in the middle of a game. Often those cases have nothing to do with the overarching story, and involve some flashy non sequitur characters from a circus or a TV show or whatnot. You know the drill.

Once you're done with the Phoenix Wright games, consider Apollo Justice. Just... go into it knowing two things beforehand:

1. It's a REALLY well-made game, but
2. It takes some really well-liked characters from the PW series and gives them the shaft, making it very easy to feel resentful towards the game.

I know many people who dislike Apollo Justice because of #2, and they end up holding it against Apollo the character. But I REALLY like Apollo. (Heck, I cosplay him. >_>; ) He's a great kid, and not nearly as dense as Phoenix sometimes seems. icon_wink.gif Plus his sidekick, Trucy, is a real kick in the pants.

I'm now done with .Hack: Part 3 Outbreak, Man that sure took long enough O_o. I don't remember the game being that long.
So far my total Hours with all the games and using convert to transfer my save's from each game. is now at 80 hours.

I playing this game too much :V. Anyways I'm starting the fourth game up. which is .Hack: Part 4 Quarantine and the last game out of the first series.
After all of this I'm on the hunt for the first two games of .Hack//G.U. Games... I'm probably just going to torrent the things and play them on my FreeMCBoot PS2 icon_razz.gif

Oh yes, I'm aware. It's just the filler cases in the first two games (minus the circus one, which was horrendous) were better, in my opinion. icon_razz.gif

Yeah, getting used to a new cast is always a daunting thing, especially if the old one was very good. I'll play it eventually, but I'm just giving myself a break from the series. Plus, trying to finish that last T&T case yesterday took all day and I didn't get any AC3 time, so I need to make up for that. D:<
