Hm I think it's a little low on the ground detail. I suggest actually putting some basic grass tiles in there to make some variation. I mean the standard grass tile. The sandy path could also be a little more overgrown.

Bleh, please don't use the standard grass tile. It clashes with the rest of them.

My only complaints are that the path is too straight, and that the screen just feels way too empty. Of course, with mountains taking up so much space, I understand the emptiness.

Ok, I have realized that I didn't have enough ground detail as the surrounding area screens, so I've added a bit more, as well as slightly changing the path to show the bend on the screen fully than it was before.

The Shallow water, unfortnatley, I can't really do much about without removing it.

@Ica: The reason you don't see the dots is that it was animated and I obviously taken the shot while they weren't visible.

I said a little too funky, not funky in general, I hope you can see the difference to what I'm saying and from what your reading. icon_razz.gif I, for one, agree with you about the sharpness of the Z1 overworld palette, so I'm pleased you changed it. Hm, can't you just fiddle around with the shallow. Please? icon_razz.gif

It looks nice it reminds me of the Mysterious Woods from LA. The brown and greens blend in too much I would suggest you somehow separate the two colours. The blues are alright perhaps a hint of purple. Looks solid otherwise.

I think the screens have a nice design, but I can't help, but to think that there should be a little more to at least the second screen. Like a rock or two, or perhaps something else. icon_shrug.gif Just my thought.

This is much better then the first palette you had for this area. The other one seemed a bit too bright, and almost too odd of a color. This is a bit darker, but still shows the areas uniqueness.

The crowdedness would depend on the number/type of enemies present. Without enemies, it's not crowded at all. However, it seems to be low on detail.

How can they clash while they basically belong together and are ripped from the same game?

Because it's only 2 colors and very basic, whereas the rest are 3 colors and much more detailed. It doesn't work.

I have to say that I like how this looks Yoshidude. I almost think you should get rid of the dark orange borders on the pathways though, so they match up better with the classic set. The sign sticks out a bit too much with the border too. Considering the Classic set doesn't have borders on anything, it looks a bit odd to me. Otherwise I do like how the screen looks.

The dirt looks pretty good, I'd say. The sign kinda looks like dick there though.
