Random observations:

- Ganondorf and Bowser Jr. are unlocked by default this time. I'm not sure if there are fewer unlockable characters in this version or if I'm just unsure who was a default in the 3DS version who is locked this time around, but I haven't looked that much.

- 3DS as a controller is surprisingly responsive, I'm impressed. Only minor issue is that sometimes the 3DS doesn't know when it's been disconnected.

- Megaman doesn't explode into particles when losing a stamina match, he just faints like everyone else, just with the added particle effects emanating from where his health hit zero. :(

Also clearly this is the best custom stage:

Gonna be honest and say that I wasn't expecting a whole lot from this game after my disappointment in the 3DS version. However, having played it with some friends today, I can say I was pleasantly surprised! It was fantastic!! The game just feels so much better. Maybe I'm crazy but something about the 3DS version just didn't really click. The WiiU version seems more complete and more like a party game, which is really kind of what Smash is. Playing solo on the 3DS ninety percent of the time got old pretty fast and the online didn't work great so there wasn't much one could do. I only got a handful of matches in, but Smash 4 WiiU seemed to play much more smoothly than it's October handheld release.

Well guys, what do you think? Is it the Wii U's savior?

Smash Tour is actually pretty fun! It feels like Mario Party.

Got all the characters. A bit more challenging to get all of them compared to 3DS version.

That giant, metal R.O.B. event match was intense. That enemy pretty much OHKO's you when you have over 50% damage. That was the trickiest event match for me so far.

Finally got a chance to play this on the WiiU. My good friend bought it, and we have spent several hours playing it. We did Classic co-op on 9.0, and it was a blast. The master core is hard, at first, but really makes me think of a Megaman boss in a way, cause once you know his attacks, it's not too hard to dodge, and hit his head. I'm over all impressed with how the game feels, and plays. I will admit, the intro movie was a bit underwhelming, and not nearly as epic as Brawl's, or even Melee's, for that matter, but this is a matter of opinion. I played around with Little Mac, Mario, Luigi, Toon Link, Samus, and Rosalina + Luma.

Content wise, this game is packed. It might not seem like it at first glance, but there is so much cool stuff. Also, I'm really excited about the new stage builder as well.

I imagine that's caused by the console overheating.

How did Daffy Duck get into the game Nexas? :P But i agree with franpa. It might be overheating. I had issues like that do but usually just lag.
