Thank you for the review! icon_smile.gif

But I gotta ask, how were you able to beat this quest with a wrong version of Zelda Classic? O_o The enemies should be all screwed up... are you saying that all enemies and custom bosses worked fine?? O_O Because if so, that would be fantastic news.

Not everything was screwed up. However, here was what I noticed. Please inform me which is intentional and which is just build 613 acting up.
  • Many of the custom enemies took damage with the boomerang instead of stun, which made them HARDER for me to beat/get past. The one exception that I clearly remember: the Windrobes didn't take damage or stun from the boomerang. Testing with the Bomberang wasn't done: I did NOT want to enter that place again!
    • About the Windrobes...I'm unsure if they are custom, or a glitch in the original programming. I recall Windrobes being unaffected by the Boomerang, but shooting out their winds similar to how a Red Wizzrobe shoots off its magic. However, THESE Windrobes shot out their winds similar to how a Fire Wizzrobe shoots off its fire. Or rather, it's shot FAST, but in 8 directions. The Boomerang didn't affect that enemy. However, just about every other custom enemy took damage from the boomerang instead of stun.
  • The Tektike and Pols Voice replacements seemed to move faster than before, making them more difficult to hit.
  • The fairy recovered 5 hearts upon touching, not 3.
  • The octorok replacements allowed me to reflect the rocks back at them, even with the normal shield! However, if I tried walking into the projectiles, I would hear it "bounce" off and into me for normal damage.
  • Almost all of the "rotating sphere" enemies (think firebars from Super Mario Bros) seemed to eventually "curve" on the right side, instead of rotating constantly around its center home.
  • Again, some of the final boss attacks were skipped upon re-fighting him due to game over. The main one I remember: I had to fight the four Crackorocks every time, but the two Deathbos only the initial fight. The same thing happened with the blue black hole thing: once beaten, always beaten.
  • Some of the screens wouldn't let me use the space bar to view the map. I believe some of them were done on purpose, like around the Castle. However, it was a slight annoyance.
  • I don't recall how long the spin attack is supposed to charge up, but it seems too long. Then again, I think a good deal of the spin attack in general needs a bit of fixing.
  • I recall only having trouble with ONE trigger in the Northeast Mountain area. There was some dry wood surrounded by some trees, and while the candle was able to reach it, it didn't respond. I think I needed the Wand for it. I am pretty sure all I missed was a piece of heart, though, so it's not a big deal.
  • The castle level...I STILL can't find the last key I was supposed to have found originally.
That's about all I can recall for now. I'm not going to push it any more though: I have a test I should be studying for now.

To answer your original question of "why the wrong version"? Well, I didn't notice your Mac build, and by the time I did, people already complained it was buggy. icon_razz.gif

Everything I did not quote was intentional behavior.
Here:

[*]The Tektike and Pols Voice replacements seemed to move faster than before, making them more difficult to hit.
-Hmm... faster than before? Then this is a new behaviour caused by a wrong version I guess.
[*]Almost all of the "rotating sphere" enemies (think firebars from Super Mario Bros) seemed to eventually "curve" on the right side, instead of rotating constantly around its center home.
-Eventually? Can you be more specific?
[*]Again, some of the final boss attacks were skipped upon re-fighting him due to game over. The main one I remember: I had to fight the four Crackorocks every time, but the two Deathbos only the initial fight. The same thing happened with the blue black hole thing: once beaten, always beaten.
-Ok, this is definitely a wrong version bug. Dammit.
[*]I don't recall how long the spin attack is supposed to charge up, but it seems too long. Then again, I think a good deal of the spin attack in general needs a bit of fixing.
-Well the spin attack is a bit... unpolished even when playing with the Lost Isle Build....
[*]I recall only having trouble with ONE trigger in the Northeast Mountain area. There was some dry wood surrounded by some trees, and while the candle was able to reach it, it didn't respond. I think I needed the Wand for it. I am pretty sure all I missed was a piece of heart, though, so it's not a big deal.
-Hmm... weird...

The windrobes are also not intentional behavior. I just went through the Master Dome just the other day in LI Build and they act like normal Windrobes, not like what you were describing. So must be something incompatible between the windrobe code of the LI Build and the latest Mac Build you played it in. Windrobes were never meant to be THAT hard.

I'll try to explain the rotating sphere thing.

The best example I can think of is some of the eastern rooms in the Plague Factory. Picture a fire bar that rotates around a fixed point. A few times around, it loops around its base perfectly. However, after those few times, it...how do I put this...

The bar still does rotation, but it starts to behave more like a jump rope, with the other "base" more towards the lower right. It's kind of strange to see for myself, I'll admit.

As far as the Windrobes go...alright, I'll believe you this time. However...you have to admit it's a good idea for later Master Domes......wait, forget I said anything. *shudders*

I'll look into the Pols Voice and Windrobes later. However, you two should both be proud. It actually holds up "mostly" well given the circumstances. I still had a hard time fighting the final boss anyway, so don't feel too bad.

Well it's definitely good to hear that Lost Isle works pretty well on other builds than Lost Isle Build, but I still don't recommend to play LI with any other version than the LI Build. icon_smile.gif

I have just confirmed Tektike and Pols Voice behavior. The edits to those enemies must have been done on purpose for Lost Isle. They work normally on the first quest.

I also need to apologize, but I'm not going to "downgrade" here to play Lost Isle. Build 613 is actually pretty stable for quest playing.

As far as the problems with the final boss...I believe I would study up on the FOURTH boss battle from Plague Factory. I believe that one worked completely, and I know I died a good deal on that one too. Perhaps a wrong combo was used on the final boss, but right one on Plague Factory?

Well since you won't downgrade to a beta that plays the final boss perfectly, and we keep stating to only play LI in the build it was made for, tested for and is perfect for, there really is no reason or incentive for us to research why it isn't working right in build 613.

Understood. Again, congrats on making the quest.

I have to do some more testing myself with these newest builds, but seems like we still have to make that 2.5 version of LI when the time some day comes. Oh well, that gives us the opportunity to fix a few minor bugs and maybe make some minor changes...

It's in the swamp, to the southwest. I hope you got the bow and arrow from the village... When you see a gray statue with a 2x2 pig block, shoot the statue and the pig block vanishes. Handy, isn't it?

It should work on Vista. What kind of an error message are you getting?
