Anyways, other than Super Mario 64 (which I 100%'d in one stream yay), I picked up my Wind Waker playthrough again, almost forgot how fun that game was. Just got up to the Tower of the Gods; I'm trying to finish this game so I can remember whether or not it was better than Skyward Sword, since these two games are currently vying for the position of my favorite 3D Zelda game.

The thing I can't stand about the Fable series? It's not the obscenely boring and simplistic combat mechanics, it's not the horrifically shallow NPC and town interactions, it's not even the story and quests that are so dumb and uninspired they could have been written by a lobotomized pigeon.
It's that the game, fundamentally, hates me. Its particular breed of awful is no accident but is a conscious design decision. It's an RPG made by and for people who hate RPGs. It takes all the things that make RPGs great and actively spits in your face and insults you for liking them.
So I've been washing out the horrible sludge of Fable from my mouth with Closure! An indie puzzle platformer with a legitimately creepy atmosphere and a truly innovative mechanic based around lights. One of the most delightful games I've played this year. Give it a try!

Yesterday, I tried just playing Terraria. Spent a few hours on that game, and it ends up crashing for some unknown reason after building a tunnel to hell from scratch. (I'm still at the point where I'm using iron armor and my best tool is a gold pickaxe. I'm just looking for more materials so I can build better armor and tools.)
If my computer actually lets me, I'm going to just go back to playing Final Fantasy IX. I recently got back into it, and even though it's just an RPG, having a PC controller now actually makes a lot of difference and it's more fun to play. I don't know why, but just holding the controller in my hand rather than spidering my fingers over the keyboard makes the game a bit more enjoyable. Still not my favorite Final Fantasy, but more tolorable.
I'm trying to do the Cotton Robe trick to earn enough money for the next round of new equipment. There's got to be a better way to get Steepled Hats than trekking all the way through Burmecia every time...
EDIT: And the damn thing crashed again while playing FFIX. This time, the display driver claimed my game during the Earth Guardian fight. Ah well... I forgot to pick up Reflect Rings. My entire strategy was reliant solely on the fact that without Earthquake to deal damage (due to Gaia Gear), the boss could only kill one target per turn. I also forgot to fix my equipment after that weird castle place, so Zidane was dealing crap for damage, and my only offensive attack was 1000 Needles or Pumpkin Head, depending on Quina's HP.

I only saw him do that once, so I'm not sure if that dog of his grew to hate him or if it still considered it playing and loves him for it.

You guys know of any RPGs (not Action-RPGs, though) that have areas similar to a Zelda dungeon? I like RPGs, but I'm tired of how all the different areas end up being just walking from point A to point B. I mean, nearly every Final Fantasy game I've played ended up with you entering an area, fighting through a maze, and then killing a boss. I want to do something more while navigating the area. I want to have to think my way through something like the Forest Temple while doing the normal turn-based random encounters.
Oh yeah, if possible, can it be PS1-era or older? I can't run anything newer than that on my PC, and I'm out of spending money for a while so I can't really just go out and buy any new games.

Trying to decide what game to play next, and wanted to ask a question...

The early Ultima games?
Anyway, after finishing Closure today I had to play something else to avoid choking down Fable 3, and decided to try Borderlands. Jesus Christ, that was the most boring hour and something of my life I've ever wasted. Uninstalled, never looking back.
Played the Dear Esther remake instead, and it's... good? Maybe? I like that kind of artsy crap though.
Need to find something else to play now...
