Well geez, it's nice to know that all you young people have plenty of time to finish the game ALREADY! Me being a senior in college, I don't have nearly as much time for it as I would like. However, I will say that at this point, I have completed the third temple and am on my way to the fourth. So... I have a long way to go. BUT--
I am loving it. The only thing I don't care for are the save points... Now I can't play up until 5 minutes before I have to leave for work or class or rehearsal because I may not get to a save point in time! Sucks...
I'm so happy that it's so... different? It's so different from anything Zelda I've played. Perhaps that's because it's on the Wii (I had Twilight Princess on GC). Anyway... I look forward to the rest of it! When I can find time... But winter break is coming up! Perfect!
I'd say that hey, I'm not playing it non-stop either, but that has less to do with how much time I have and more to do with the fact that I only play it when I'm specifically in the mood (which happens about twice every three days). And I don't play it for 10 hours straight, either.
I'm with you on the "different" part. I am quite happy with classic 3D Zelda, but SS seems to look at the formula and change whatever it needs to, matching all the unique aspects of SS's game concept. In many ways it's doing the sort of thing that OoT did for the N64.
I understand why you've gotten annoyed with save points, but me, I'm a seasoned RPG player, and 3/4ths of those use a save point system. So I'm quite used to having to find save points. The downside is that you can't do it any time. The upside is that you know you will appear EXACTLY where you were when you quit the game. And since SS has save points in dungeons, that means you'll never have to start over at the beginning of the dungeon.
However, bird statues in dungeons also have a "go to the outside" function, so you aren't giving up the ability to return to the entrance when you save.
So anyway, cheer up, it has its advantages.

You just have to gauge how much time you'll have to play, and where the nearest save point is.

PS-- I LOVE that Link and Zelda have a thing going, like I've always wished for. They must be together!! They must!
I kinda like the idea of them having "a thing," but the part I like best is that Zelda is more relateable and LIKEABLE in Skyward Sword, so I have a reason to root for it. Making her a regular townsperson (mostly) was a great way to do that, and they made her much less annoying than Ilia was.
In OoT Link had just met her and she was gone most of the game. In WW she, um, wasn't herself most of the game. And in TP, she had plenty of appearances, but she was pretty... well... busy. She spent most of the game dealing with her kingdom's major problems.
In fact, seeing as she was the only royal there, she was pretty much a queen in TP, more than a princess.. the same goes for the game's namesake. Funny how that worked out.
