Then you would have grown with the Ruby and Sapphire games because Pokemon is still VERY popular >_>
No, no, I still probably would not have, and I'll explain why. At that point in my life, I was in a private school. Nobody there talked about Pokémon. When R/B/Y came out, I was in a public school and
everybody was talking about it, so naturally I was curious and jumped on the bandwagon. But chances are I would never have played Ruby and Sapphire if I missed the first two gens because I was in an environment where video game info was pretty scarce. So yeah, I still probably would not have played Pokémon at all if I didn't grow up with R/B/Y if that circumstance stayed the same. But, well, history is history, that's the way it happened, and there's no possible way to predict a different outcome.

Well, I'll admit, Lance's theme is epic, but it doesn't fit Lance. It fits Red like a glove. The whole feel of this song is "This is it. You're facing the single most powerful being in creation. Win, or die!" It fits Red, but not Lance, who, let's face it, definitely doesn't deserve that kind of description.
I guess that kinda makes sense, but I didn't know about Red or Kanto being in G/S at the time. So that's how it felt to me.

Now let's look at Emerald's champion music. It starts out with a bang, sending you a clear message: This is it. Then it drops down to a little softer, seeming to say "You've overcome every obstacle, now just persevere a little longer, you can do it." The in picks up again, but not too hard, as if to tell you "This guy's all brute strength. Don't just rush in, think! Use your head, you can beat him!" At least, that's what I got out of it. Ya, I'm hearing a song talk to me. Maybe I should see a psychiatrist.

SEEK HELP NAO

I didn't really get that. The only songs that speak to me are ones with lyrics.

Eh, personally, I'm all for a high-powered tune that just makes the fight all the more epic. It's why I'm such a big fan of
The Dark Knight's soundtrack. Powerful, pounding, doesn't let up, completely epic... It's pure win. And I'm talking about both the soundtrack and Lance's theme.

Amen to that. Nostalgia makes any game, even the crappiest game ever, seem 10,000 times better.
Now this makes me want to pull out a few crappy games from the past and try them out. Problem is, I can't really think of any. I mean, this was back when even video games based off of movies were good (for the most part), so that's a long way.

You have no idea how hard I was laughing here.

I do try.

Listen to the desert song, the Sky Tower/Mt. Chimney song, the Elite Four battle song, and the Slateport City song. Now tell me those are forgettable.
K. Maybe later. Stupid Wii browsing. >:O

Ya, Nintendo did go a loft softer in that aspect. In Fr/Lg, they made a huge point about how Ericka's gym was all girls. I don't even remember them mentioning it in HG.
I believe the same guy said nearly the same thing in Gens I and II about the gym being all girls. Ya know, the peeper.

Right... um. Who agrees that Blue is a jerk who doesn't deserve to be a gym leader? Honestly, in my opinion, (SPOILER)The gym should be the rival's. After all, he is Giovanni's son, and other gyms (like Falkner's and Janine's) have been passed down to the kids from the dad.
Eh, maybe he will, someday. I think Blue took it over just because somebody needed to. And as far as Blue not deserving to run a gym... Don't get Blaman started.
