Nah, it's gonna be the oficcial anouncement of Ridley. He's so big he needs his own Direct.http://www.nintendo....ect/10-23-2014/ There's going to be a Nintendo Direct for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U on Thursday. The Direct is going to reveal 50 new things about the game.
Please don't hate me, I madly want Ridley.

Lot of good shit in this one, too much to recap, I recommend watching the Direct for yourself. But it's looking so good, so very good, it's already kind of putting the 3DS version to shame (though I still love it). The thing I care the most about is...

Well, at least Ridley is in the new Smash.

I think I've died and gone to Heaven. 8-player Smash. Mewtwo "free" DLC. That board game mode (
). Everything the 3DS version cut. The Great Cave Offensive. Stage Builder. And SO much more. Just...wow.

Hmm....since Mewtwo has been confirmed to be added to the roster after launch, what other characters could be added? It's worth mentioning that there was a rumor called Tower of Smash that said if you connected the 3DS version to the Wii U version, you would unlock a few more characters for both versions, and Mewtwo was one of those characters (Dixie Kong, Ridley, Chorus Men, and Impa were the others. However, Ridley's chances got shot down for good with his confirmation as a boss for Pyrosphere). The rumor is pretty much disconfirmed now, but I wonder if Mewtwo's addition makes it possible for characters like Dixie and Impa to also be added later (even if it's DLC).
Lots of interesting things in the stream, though I'm disappointed that Target Blast is also in the Wii U version. I was hoping Target Test would return instead.

People said the same thing about Toon Link when the Spirit Train stage was revealed. I feel like Sakurai could make it work.

Just yesterday I got my copy for 3DS, and I've been enjoying it throughly...most characters unlocked, lotsa good stuff, and beaten Master Core on 7.5 so far.
...and then I see this, and it makes me wish I had a Wii U.
If only just for Master Effin' FORTRESS.
EDIT: Make that 8.5. So damn close.

You want to play as Ridley? There's a purple color scheme for Charizard. Just imagine it's the NES version of Ridley! ![]()
Stage builder looks like the best thing ever. Waaaay better than what Brawl had, and I still liked what Brawl had. This is gonna be good.

He can, but at this point I think it's clear he doesn't want to.People said the same thing about Toon Link when the Spirit Train stage was revealed. I feel like Sakurai could make it work.
He's the same man that, along with his team of designers and programmers, made R.OB., the Ice Climbers, Game & Watch, Fox, Falco, Wolf, Captain Falcon, Bowser Jr., Peach, Rosalina, and many others playable. Do you think anybody thought a character like Game & Watch could appear in a Smash game before Melee's release? He's too bidimensional, he can't work at all!
And yet no Ridley, which has a better source material for a moveset than any of the previous characters.
I think Sakurai once said he could have added Wario in Melee but he thought he wasn't relevant enough. Freaking Wario, the protagonist of an extremely popular series of portable games, and one of Nintendo's most recognized villains, is not relevant enough. No wonder he still ignores the press' excitement at Ridley's appearance in Melee's announcement trailer at E3 2001.
At least I applaud his courage to make his own choices without regards of popular and corporate pressure. That's a good characteristic of him, even if his choice dissapoints me.

Well, everything was good until the Mewtwo announcement. Exclusive characters only if you have both versions is very dumb. Not spending $40 to have Mewtwo, Sakurai.

No, this is incorrect, it's a free DLC if you own and register copies of both versions of the game. For everybody else is a paid DLC.
