We've seen enough to get a basic idea of what it will be like. It's too much of a change if you ask me. HG/SS were no doubt the best games, and these look like they could be worse than R/S/E.

Anyone else upset that you can't get the other starters or the Hoenn Weather Trio until you beat Red? I am. 'cause beating Red is a long ways away for me...

Eh, kinda was. Then I used gym leader rematches and got over it.

Besides, you can only get one of the Weather Trio in each game, anyway. Well, and Rayquaza, but somebody has to trade you the other of either Groudon/Kyogre in order to do that.

Finally, I got most of the Gym Leader's numbers and rounded them all up. All I'm missing are Lt. Surge (because I have to catch Zapdos first, and I don't feel like it right now), Clair (because I haven't beaten her and Lance yet), and Blue (because Daisy won't do anything when I try to talk to her). It's nice to see that they really worked on their teams; they have some pretty good teams and strategies going. I just wish there were double battles like the rematches were in Emerald. Oh well, you can't have it all, I guess. They're still pretty good, just a pain to arrange.

You have to show up after one or three. I think the guy said that it was from 1-3, but I showed up after 2 and nothing happened, but it did after three.

You know, I really want to catch Kyogre and get my Kanto starter now. I'm almost tempted to grab the event Arceus (level 100) and go wipe out Red with it.

Eh, do what you want. Since I've played and beaten the original G/S games, I didn't feel obligated to do everything the "right way," like beating the Elite Four without a Legendary (Lugia). But you haven't beaten the originals, right? So I'm not sure what that's like for you...

No, I played Crystal through the first gym, but that's it. I did beat the Elite Four without a legendary though. And I beat Yellow, which kind of should count for something.

Plus, if I did beat Red that way (which I probably won't), I'd still beat him the right way eventually. I just don't want to have to level up that much just to get the Weather Trio.

For the Weather Trio, that seems fair. They're legendaries, after all. For the Kanto/Hoenn starters, though, that just seems like it's pushing it.

EDIT: While we're on the topic, why do we keep calling it a massage? The game says "groom," that she grooms the Pokémon. That's not a massage, especially when she comments how dirty they are before she does it.

Well, they were called massages in Platinum, and that's what Serebii calls them, so, ya. It's hard to break trends once you start them.

Well, i decided to complete my Pokedex and i just realized that...It's A LOT of trading involved. o_O

I have been listening to the R/S/E music and i am becoming very nostalgic over those games. I'm definitely looking forward for Ruby and Sapphire remakes.
