I bet there will be 12 unlockable characters with 24 already unlocked characters, totaling 36. Sonic has to rock though. I wonder if there will be a ring item which doubles your power until you take damage.

They also say that Sonic is hard to control, in that first demo that Exate linked to. icon_razz.gif

That's not a surprise to me. Considering Sonic's speed, he must have low traction. He might be lighter than Mario, as well, maybe a bit.

Beefster: Melee started with 14 characters. (all eight from the original + Bowser, Peach, Zelda, Ice Climbers, Captain Falcon, and Ness). They might increase the number to 15 or leave it the same.

New Hyrule Temple-ish stage. New Pork City. Madness!
It's not as flat though, so I wonder if it'll still become as popular as Hyrule Temple.
Needs more giant stages!

What I wonder is if they will bring more old stages back. I loved Link's Stage in SSB, I would love to see that level make a comeback.

Anyways, another reason for the delay is rumored to be because the online features are not all finished or working 100%. They look to be polishing that, and also rumored to be adding a headset feature. One can only wish right.

By the way, today's update was sweet.

New Pork City! icon_w00t.gif

It reminds me of Rainbow Cruise from Melee a bit, but considering they're comparing the stage to Hyrule Temple, that must mean it's not a scrolling type stage. I like the Ultimate Chimera addition. From what I've seen, the Ultimate Chimera seems to play the same role as in Mother 3. I'm curious as to whether or not the Giant Pokey Statue will also play a role.

As for rumors, I know that's all they are at the moment, but if they are really developing a headset for the Wii, that may mean online voice chat for some games. But, I think the polishing of the online play seems more likely.

Madness?

THIS

IS

CAKETOWN

Awesome stage, but it doesn't have enough land to be as good as Hyrule Temple in Melee. Of course, I really want to see Termina: Great Bay make a comeback. That stage was AMAZING.

I didn't like Great Bay. icon_unsettled.gif

I'd much rather see a comeback of Flat Zone. icon_razz.gif

Home-Run Contest returns with multiplayer capabilities and the inclusion of a shield to keep you and the sandbag from falling off of it.

Hey, I wonder if Brawl will bring back the Multi-Man Melee, and with the same added feature as Home-Run Contest. I wonder if they're going to use subspace emissaries or if they're going to revive either the Wireframes or Polygons. A two-player Multi-Man Melee would be fun to do.

Hmm... maybe a combination? We saw the return of the bumper, now let's see those polygons come back. icon_biggrin.gif

(though admittedly, they wouldn't be as blocky this time around)

A few more things to learn.
Some are our confirmed Norfair stage, Samus' super missiles from Smash forward+b look like actual super missiles now, etc. Enjoy.

Nice video.

I enjoyed watching Pit in action, and it impressed me. However, his Final Smash just looked... lame. icon_confused.gif
