So anyway, one of the NES games released for 3DS VC yesterday was NES Open Tournament Golf. I mention this because Peach has an almost perfect Derpy Hooves look on her face in it.

Looking back at the stuff that happened on Facebook, there was more than just joking around. This is how it all happened:

1. I changed my profile picture
2. I encouraged one of my brony friends to change his picture too
3. I get random messages about ponies, including "Applejack, that is all"
4. Everypony who messaged me either admitted to liking ponies, or also changed their profile picture
5. We started discussing ponies, and the amount of posts and pictures started to flood everypony's news feed
6. An actual parasprite posted about how people need to stop becoming 5 year old girls.
7. I confronted the parasprite about what he said, saying that this was clearly directed at me
8. The parasprite posted antipony statuses and pictures
9. A couple other bronies came in, telling him to watch the show before he judges
10. Status update - The parasprite uses our names, telling us to stop talking about ponies on his wall
11. I start seeing others rise up too (in the same way people did after I changed my picture) saying that they wanted to kill the ponies, hated people that watch the show, and think that we are wrecking the internet
12. Some of my friends (who I am still friends with) agree with the parasprites, and even say how they hate the ponies, but don't come even close to the harshness of others, and still talk to me (that's what I meant when I said we were joking around, which we did do for a while)
13. People started blocking each other
14. I get a message from the original parasprite saying he's going to block me if I don't stop
15. I update my status, saying "And the Facebook pony war begins!"
16. Other parasprites (and a few of my antipony friends) say either in a status, or in a comment that it's on.
17. The bronies start grouping together (I even created a small website where we could talk)
18. The parasprites start making themselves known between each other
19. More antipony messages
20. Everything dies down slowly

It was probably the most interesting night this entire summer o_O

It ended, there are still comments about all the ponies, but nothing intended to hurt the bronies.

We'd probably have a lot less hate against us if we had a better name for ourselves than "bronies". I mean, it really is a relatively obnoxious name.

I like bronies, I don't really find it obnoxious. It probably would seem more obnoxious from a ponyhater's perspective, so I guess you're right.

It just seems like throwing the word "bro" in there makes it seem like we have something to prove. Which we don't, we shouldn't have to prove anything.

I think it might be more due to the fact that a lot of bronies are making the show encompass 99% of their lives... I mean, no offense, but it gets annoying when I'm trying to talk about a totally unrelated subject and "Oh hey guys, ponies," comes out of nowhere. And sometimes that's what it seems like, that it's the only thing you guys care about in life. That's just my personal opinion on it. I'm sort of in the middle- I like the show, but I don't enjoy categorizing myself as (well this might be a bit harsh) some of the extremists for it.

I'm a hardcore fan all the way, and I'll never let people forget that, but I also like to make sure people know that I have other interests as well.

Personally, I liked Yotsuba& more than Azumanga Daioh, but we'll save that for another thread.

Constantly using silly words like "everypony" certainly isn't helping anyone. The same thing happens in the furry fandom; people constantly use words like "furiend" and "fursecution." It's just... annoying. :/

Yeah, sad to say I actually fell into that horrible habit for a while. I can see why it's annoying and I've tried to quit lately, but it's difficult to do when fanfics have ingrained these terms into your mind...
