I like this idea. And use Atomizer and Stun to defeat the second form.

There's one problem with Morph Ball bombs though...in ZC...they detonate and launch you immediately. It'd throw you into Nightmare forcing you to take damage.

I assume the room is treated like an underwater area while nightmare is alive, since you can't speed boost or jump high, and if thats the case, the bombs wont launch you since they dont do that anymore in the watery areas.

Nightmare's first form is normal gravity. (It was in fusion..and I never noticed it different here). Gravity turns on in second form. Test it yourself...fire missiles or the atomizer in Nightmare's first form...and see if gravity pulls them at a downward angle.

Choco thief's strategy for the first form of the nightmare is what made me think to continue using it...but if it is invulnerable on the first form...it may be impossible to beat...since the missiles and wave beam are blocked from underneath by the nightmare's body, while the atomizer is not.

The other weapons do damage him, but your timing probably has to be precise. Using the Atomizer wasn't the originally intended solution, remember.

Avoiding him on first form to save energy, then then bombarding him on second from the top of the grip wall is key to beating him in double danger mode. Your idea could work if stun works, though I'm not entirely sure it will...but can you even make it work while gravity motion is going on?

The gravity stuff is controlled by the enemy script, so it'd technically be stopped if he was stunned. An additional factor to stunning him is that the Atomizer actually wouldn't do damage in that case.

I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing any dialogue or story.

The cutscene that plays now after the conclusion of the game is the official ending. I think I had it say "To Be Continued..." so that the Zero Suit Samus sprite would stay onscreen.

Then there are two options for a Power Beam boss. Either one...make it vulnerable to a blank spazer (but we're already doing that for the spider. Actually...that idea won't work for the later ship bosses)

Crazy idea now...make it Ridley...but make the data log say something like it was a failed clone...with no known vulnerabilities...except a small dent in the armor, or a glitch in its shielding. Make it clear that only a small or weak weapon can actually damage it.

That's sounds insanely hard. I'm more in favor of something like the Gold Chozo being vulnerable to the lowest power beam. Yes, you can save it for later; but doing that might actually punish you by making it do less damage. Whereas facing it earlier would take longer, but be easier overall.

Actually, you're both right. The room is treated like an underwater area (no speed boost, no high jump, no bomb jump).

The weapons are affected directly by the enemy script rather than a separate ffc in the room. So, they'd work normally if he was stunned.

Edit: Forgot to mention. Alpha Skree is now vulnerable to Charge Beam. Since you can't have any other beam upgrades when you get here, this is rather easy to do. Shots can be normal or charged to do damage. (Charged shots do 2 x damage.)

So bombs first form...Atomizer second. I think that works well.

I'm not playing through again just to test the escape sequence script upon dying by the Queen to see if you can skip MB the second or anytime thereafter. Maybe Choco can when he gets there the next time.

i dont know why, but the game broke for me on the computer boss that alternates missile vulnerabilities. I still haven't updated the quest from the last update you gave me and it was fine before, but now when its vulnerable to one type of missile, it instead makes the blocked shot noise. other than speeding through the game, i did everything i usually do the same, so idk what happened there.

How do I get the latest version.

I am stuck at the gates which are gone but I can't move through that corridor.

Choco, keep up the play-through, please.

the latest version is on the first page of this forum, every time a new version is out, it replaces the one on the link a few posts down.

Up in the Ice World entry to the rocket ship. I have all four gates down but it seems as if they are still there.

You commented on the problem in posts #24 and #29.
