You still don't get it?

I will say only two words and two numbers

Woodman Plantman

1988-1993

But post another city, look cool xD

Don't take a fun debate like a personal attack, that's boring and ruins the fun. I never see many Megaman 6 fans before, so I admit that I'm a bit shocked about this... But there isn't nothing wrong about that. 6 was always know for being the "plane game"... and that contradict the Megaman gameplay because you technically can't fall in a pit  ;) That and the rehash feeling is what made the game a poor Megaman for me. For example, I don't like 3 much, but I can understand why It's loved.

At this point, I'm positive that I'm not the one that doesn't get it. But either way, clearly this discussion has nothing further to be gained from it.

Forgot about this:

And the weapons ? what your favorite in all series ?

Top Spin. :tard:

I've been a fan of Thunder Beam, Elec Man's weapon. It's quite useful and powerful.

DCEnygma:

Yeah, in fact I was finished my speech about the MM6 question, but you pointed at me with your screens, so I answered another time to explain X) What can I do, then? I love discussions about videogames and I love to see people that disagree with me (the reasons behind that is what is interesting to me, we are players from different generations). And I have a clear conclusion about MM6. So, we can move on!

Btw, there is any Megaman hack that worth a visit? A hack that feels like a real Megaman? o.o I never tried one.

Irony is six is the only one I owned and thought it was too easy compared to the others.

I've played several of the hacks, but never found any that felt so great. Some of them were enjoyable, but there was always something off about them. I mentioned the MM7 8-bit remake earlier, if you're interested in a different take on a main series game.

Part of me wants to play 8 again, even though I remember not liking it. Maybe I'll do the demake instead. No bad voice acting to boot!

As I mentioned earlier, Black Hole Bomb is good.  Really good.  Ridiculously unfair good that it wrecks mini-bosses and anything else beneath that.  Poor Jewel Man.

Other various weapons I really like are Ice Slasher, Quick Boomerang, Silver Tomahawk, and Water Shield, to name a few.

My biggest problem with MM8 is that the levels feel way too long, a problem the demake doesn't fix. I still think it's an improvement, though.

This one doesn't feel like a real Mega Man game, but everyone still needs to play it. If you thought that Zelda 1 hack from the other thread was disappointing, play this and prepare to get your face rocked.

I'm surprised Moosh had never played Megaman 1... Didn't you have a Yellow Devil boss?

I never really could get into 1 because I had played several of the later ones first, and it has that "first draft" feel when you compare it to the next ones... At least that's the way it felt when you played them out of order.

If the "boobeams" are the beams in Quick Man's stage in 2, they are mean but I actually never bothered with them, since you can just use Flash Man's weapon to freeze them and cheese that part. For me it always came down to two choices there: either you are a masochistic player and you try to beat Quick Man's stage before Flash Man's, or you find out you can make this part incredibly easier if you use Flash Man's weapon. The same thing goes for the disappearing blocks segments in Heat Man's stage: this is tough as nails and unforgiving, but if you want, you can just cheese that if you got the horizontal transporter thing first. This is something I like a lot about Megaman 2, in many spots you can choose the easy way or the hard way.

Boobeam Trap is the fourth Wily stage boss actually. The thing you have to beat with Crash Bombs. It has no other weakness. And a perfect run takes all the energy. If you screw up, you're screwed unless you can grind energy somewhere.

The Boobeam is the 4th boss of the Wily Stages, where you have to use Crash Bombs and Items 1 or 3 to take them out, and if you so much as miss one single shot with the crash bombs, you can't win, you can only get killed and hope to get your entire weapon energy meter refilled.  People hate it and for good reason.  It was just poorly designed.  I wouldn't mind so much if you could make a couple mistakes and still win.

The beams in Quick Man's stage aren't so bad.  Yes, very easy with the Flash Stopper, but without it, honestly the only tough part is the first couple of screens in the gauntlet where you have to jump; after that it's smooth running and dropping.

Oh, I understand.

As much as I love Megaman 2 I will agree that the robot master stages are the best part, and Dr Wily's fortress isn't as good (except for the music).

The boobeam is only a issue in the first play. Once you know how to deal with it there isn't any reason to fail in that, in the worst case, you can use energy tanks if you are a really bad player... It's just a single room in the game, it's not a gimmick that breaks the entire game... The first two Megaman games are easy when you know how to deal with all, that's the point.

It's just another design philosophy, and that was very common in the 80s (memorization and experience). I know about a lot of old games that have that type of issues. And they are fantastic unique games, with passion, and they worth it... even with these issues. It's better than rehashing the same game, over and over, imo. Someone here don't like the original Prince of Persia, for example?

And I can understand why the new gamers of today, can hate that, now the new games have 5000000 checkpoints everywhere, hand-holding, bosses that die in the first try... meh. I want to beat the game for myself. Modern gaming, I suppose X)
