Honest question, why would you blur the Link sprite sheet (and nothing else) out when you could up-size them so they don't fit in 16x16 pixels or just leave them in their original form, considering your tileset isn't even out yet? I mean, I can't imagine someone using your Link sprites without the complete tileset (which is coming soon, no?) and it looks like the sprite style is only accustomed to this set. But you know, do what you gotta do.

Your subscreen is fantastic otherwise. I can't say much about Link.

If someone wants to rip Link, they'll rip him. Blurring won't stop him.

I contemplated ripping him solely to prove this point. :x

Go ahead, and make sure to tell me how many hours of editing it takes to get the exact original!   :snide:

OH FLUFF I forgot about ASEprite's indexed palettes!!! *removes*

I didn't mean to cause alarm.  I doubt that anyone would really try.  Usually, on PureZC, people are quite respectful of others' wishes regarding their own graphics--at least I should hope so.

Yeah, I get where you're coming from. In all seriousness, I said that because I wanted to find out how hard it is to actually retrieve blurred sprites. I do it all the time to prevent stealing (not so much stealing as wanting to deliver only a finished product) but I've never really found out how effective it is.

Anyways, as long as I'm here, I'd just like to say that progress is going smoothly. Page 103 of the classic turned out to be a bigger hurdle than I imagined. It's definitely taking me a while to chisel my way through all the enemy designs, especially because I have an extreme repulsion for recoloring sprites. Everything's gotta be done from scratch!

It's not effective at all. You could even use a program like ImageMagick to unblur in bulk.

I just now saw this thread, and haven't even read the first post yet, but I will say, I've been following this set, and it looks freaking awesome. Can't wait to try it tomorrow/ soon. :)

Part of me wants a new version of ZC that uses Koten as the default tileset.  ZC: Infringement-free Edition.

Actually it would still infringe, since it's all still Zelda.  Once everything got reskinned once more, you'd be free.

That's not true. I explained to you why that's not true. Don't make me dig it out.

We would need to remove the other references, yes, but that should not be difficult to accomplish.

Now that everything from Classic has been reskinned, I'm going to be rolling out a quiet Beta v1.0 release on this thread. Later, I would like to submit to the database, but I really don't feel that Koten Basic is quite complete. Personally, I'm not very happy with the palette setups and I haven't actually attempted to make very many screens using any of this.

Feel free to download Beta v1.0 in the OP (where the demo download was) and give me any feedback. But please abstain from making any fully-fledged quests with this. I mean, I can't stop you, but the palette system might be going through a major overhaul and it would make any future Koten tiles incompatible with Beta v1.0.  It would be a good idea to use this in SoTM, though. :D

This is excellent. I won't say perfect, but excellent.

It is worth noting also that your Goriyas are adorable.
