Well, let me put it this way. As a general rule, I dislike anime. In fact, of all the ones I've seen, I only liked two of them enough to finish watching. Death Note was one of them. It's not perfect by any means. It gets way over the top sometimes (but this seems to be a general trend with anime), and after the death of a certain character, it falls into a bit a boring streak for a few episodes. That said, it's still a great story, and a depressing look at human nature, of how somebody who started with such noble intentions could sink so low so fast. I'd say give it a go.

I liked Death Note a lot, but never got around to finishing it. I started watching it when they were showing it on Adult Swim, and ended up having to miss a couple episodes. The show moves at a pace where if you miss an episode, you're going to be completely lost. I figured that I'd wait for them to wrap up the show since I knew I was past the half-way point, and then catch it when they did the second run-through, like they do with their other shows like Full Metal Alchemist. It turns out that the showing that I had been watching was their last one before replacing the show with something else. I never got to see the ending. I know how it ends, since I had it spoiled for me on the internet, but I've never actually seen it. I should get around to finishing it.
As for what I'm watching, I'm still trying to catch up on One Piece. Good God, when are they going to finish up in Alabasta?! I've seen Luffy get his ass handed to him by Crocodile, and I just finished getting to see Sanji beat up on Bon Clay. It's a show about pirates, for crying out loud! Why are they spending so much time in a freaking desert!? The worst part is, I looked into what kind of places come up next, and apparently there's something like a particular arc taking something like over fifty episodes or something. Is it going to be as slow-moving and tedious as Alabasta, or will it move at a faster pace?

So I recently watched Ano Hana and Cowboy Bebop. Originally I didn't like Cowboy Bebop, but I decided to give it another chance. Overall it's a pretty mediocre anime imo: I don't like how there isn't really a plot to the anime. What could have been the main plot that was spread out through four episodes. Ano Hana on the other hand was amazing. It's a really sad story, and it just knows how to push your buttons to make you cry. I'm not ashamed to admit that I cried a lot during that anime. I really recommend watching it. Going to rewatch Higurashi sometime in the next few weeks. It's going to be a fun ride~

Finally finished watching Nichijou. >_> (I only had one episode left for the longest time.)
Decided to go against what I usually do and started to watch Attack on Titan. I usually like to wait for the series to be complete before watching it, but I'm faaaar too interested in this one to put it off that long. Just finished episode 4, and look forward to seeing 5 tomorrow. :3

Watched over half (15 episodes) of the entire series of of Fruits Basket. I can safely say that this is definitely going to be one of my favorite animes of all time. The biggest strength of this anime is character development. The close interaction between each of the Sohmas is just fantastic. Some could even put you in tears. Tohru Honda is a very interesting main character. She doesn't follow any weird cliches female anime characters are known for and she doesn't go all emo like some of the other characters. I can't wait to finish up this series. For those of you who missed out on this 2001 classic, do yourself a favor and give this anime a shot. ![]()

Speaking of classics I'm back to talk about my next classic anime marathon! I just finished rewatching Witch Hunter Robin. Witch Hunter Robin, for those that don't know, starts out as an episodic anime, but later fleshes out the rest of the plot and gets really serious about half way through. While it isn't amazing it is good at what it does. Next on the list is Gundam Wing. I've always been a Gundam fan, and it's about time I go rewatch Gundam Wing. Duo, I'm coming back to you at long last!
Lastly, I finally made a MAL. It's pretty much just to keep track of the anime/manga that I've watched/read because I keep forgetting. It's still kinda incomplete, and the ratings are a little inconsistent, but it's here or in my signature if you guys want to check it out. Basically 8 or higher I recommend watching, 6-7 is okay to good, and anything lower than a 6 I didn't like or was terrible but I watched it to prevent boredom. Thought you guys may get a kick out of it so there it is.

Of the series you've watched, I'd say I agree with most of the scores. Just thought I'd mention a few.
Suisei no Gargantia - I feel like this should get higher than a 6. It's got a lot of flaws, but it gains points in my book because it actually has had some decent curve balls throughout its run. It has hit some major storytelling flaws, though, and it had some filler fluff in the middle. IMO, I'd put it somewhere between a 7-8 probably. Closer to 8 ignoring the filler.
Umineko no Naku Koro ni - 8?
Really? This series killed me because it had so much potential, but lived up to none of it. And that's sad, because I hear the VN of Umineko is better than Higurashi. There were even moments when the anime seemed to be pulling itself back with a few episodes, but it would merely collapse in on itself. I'd probably give it a 6.
Fullmetal Alchemist - I'm honestly not a fan of the original FMA anime. And it's not that I'm really a "original is better" person. It's just... there's so much prolonged angst in the series.
And so many ridiculous things added that seemed so unrealistic in terms of the universe it was in. A guy who's 90% mech? Shou Tucker coming back as a big fluffy bear with an upside down head. Really? Plus the movie raised more questions than it really answered. Not that FMA:B/the manga is without its problems. I particularly felt like there were some missteps near the end. I'd probably give the original anime an 8.
Cowboy Bebop: I'm not as big of a fan of Cowboy Bebop as some other people, so I'm not going to say much. Just wanted to bring up that I know that them be fightin' words with some people. ![]()
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann - This is where I start saying fighting words because I'm not a huge fan of Gurren Lagann. Granted, I'd still give it a 9 I'd say. First half was absolutely brilliant. Second half was a mix of brilliance and repetitive bullshit masked by amazing visuals.
In other news, the new season of anime is coming up in a week or two. Here's the chart of what's coming out. Anything anyone is looking into watching? I'll be definitely be watching Dangan Ranpa, Fate/kaleid liner, and The World God Only Knows. I might give Gin no Saji and Kamisama no Inai Nichiyoubi a look.

Dangan Ronpa's getting an anime? I'll have to watch this then. I'd been mostly waiting on seeing if the game would make it over here, but since that doesn't seem all that feasible, an anime adaptation will fill the gap...I hope. X3
On another note, I'm caught up on Attack on Titan. Yay! ![]()

I feel like I should explain some of these ratings, and why I gave them what I did.
Gargantia: Gargantia had an interesting start but then slowed down to a crawl for the next 6 or so episodes. There was nothing in terms of plot: it was just Ledo trying to figure out what to do on the ship for the longest time. The plot finally started in the last few episodes, but sadly it was extremely predictable. Overall, I've kinda enjoyed the show, but it isn't a great anime.
Umineko: while I do admit that Umineko has its problems, I did enjoy the series a lot. I should probably bump it down to a 7, but 8 feels right. Sadly, the anime doesn't go into as much detail as I want it to, but that's the nature of anime. Reading the manga/VN is going to be a better experience than the anime, but that doesn't mean the anime isn't worth a watch if you enjoy the series. I'm really sad that it doesn't have a second season, though. ![]()
Fullmetal Alchemist: I don't understand why some people dislike this anime. The storytelling, character development, and the plot are all amazing. While most of the plot was made just for the anime, it was so well done that I feel like it was better than the original material. I will agree that the movie wasn't exactly the best, though.
Cowboy Bebop: as I said before, I don't like this series for a few reasons: there is absolutely no plot, no structure and very little character development. It's just an episodic anime that expects you to keep watching because of the characters. When you ask for some character development they throw in a two episode long plot that goes a little into that character's backstory. After that you don't hear anything about it for a long time. The best example of this is Julia. The whole thing with Julia could have been an over-arching plot, but instead you just get 4 episodes about Spike's backstory spread out across the whole series. There were 4 episodes about Spike/Julia/Vicious: 1 at the start of the anime, 1 in the middle, and 2 at the end. The only reason I finished that anime was because I liked Spike, Jet and Ed. Cowboy Bebop wasn't that enjoyable of a watch for me. I wanted plot but never got it.
Gurren Lagann: I agree that the first half was better than the second. Overall I felt the second half was kinda out of place. Despite the last sentence I really enjoyed the whole thing. This is another one of those, "I probably should have rated it lower but x feels right." I did say that the ratings were a little inconsistent lol
EDIT: I already added what anime I'm planning on checking out in that list. I'll post it here for those that don't wish to look.
Neptune, Danganronpa, Free!, Gin no Saji, The World God Only Knows, and Kamisama no Inai Nichiyoubi

So the summer season has officially started. There was a pre-air of Kamisama no Inai Nichiyoubi because Nico streams are amazing and low quality, and Free! which is a swimming anime with really hot guys and a lot of homosexual overtones. All of the male characters so far have feminine names, and the 50% of the female characters have masculine names. Free!'s ending is the most ridiculous ending theme I've seen in a while, with Matsuoka Rin taking the cake for the most ridiculous part. Also, when you see it...
I'm picking up Free! this season; Kamisama no Inai Nichiyoubi is still in the 'wait and see' category. I look forward to a Danganronpa episode when I wake up. Really excited for that series, hope it doesn't let me down.
Lastly, I finished rewatching GitS:SAC (because I forgot I wanted to rewatch it a while back and stopped half way. >_>) and started rewatching Basilisk. I found 1080p Basilisk so Gundam Wing will have to wait a little bit. Basilisk is just too good and it's been too long since I've seen it.

I'm not going to watch Free, but I applaud it just because I remember all the pissed off people on Reddit and other places because of KyoAni making a series for girls. So many people were raging it was hilarious. ![]()
I heard something about the Berserk movies being finished up, so I'll probably give them a watch soon since I've heard good things about the series.

They finally started to sell the cheaper Blu-Ray set of Stein's Gate Complete Series Part One that's NOT the Limited Edition. I decided to pick one up for myself. I can't wait to watch this anime. Especially how it's praised so much in this thread.
