Are you even reading this thread anymore? Or are you just spamming nonsense?

Do you even have any remote clue as to what we've been discussing these past few posts? You certainly don't imply that you do.

I can't stand people who don't use their brain when they clearly have one. Watch it pal, this thread is my house.

Ah, thank you then. I'm sorry I'm such a hardass; I keep forgetting English isn't really your thing, so it makes sense you skip those wordy posts of mine...

Let me briefly summarize what we've been talking about: I'm having a problem with this script I'm writing, and I can't continue work on my Quest until I figure out how to fix it. That's basically it. icon_neutral.gif

Okay, so let me ask something. When you described the problem, you said it was just for an enemy you're making. But not being able to make that enemy is paralyzing the entire quest. Why is that one enemy so important? Or does it affect a bunch of other stuff too, and you just used that enemy as an example?

Yes, it's just one enemy, but it's an important enemy. It's the Goriya. It can't be Zelda without the Goriya, no sir! I mean hey, if it didn't take place in Hyrule, that's one thing, but this one does, albeit a corrupt Hyrule, so in other words, I got a fever, and the only prescription... is moar Goriya!

I do have some good news! And no, it has nothing to do with this guy. The news is that I got the first half of my script finally working like it should be! Earlier today I wrote my entire script how I thought it had to be written, and it was totally broken from the start... so I started over and took things one step at a time this time. Goriya's spawned properly, check. Then I wrote the routine to make them spawn boomerangs, only I used Sword Beams instead just so I could test the timing. Oops, buggy! So I went back and fixed it. And three fixes later, they're throwing "Boomerangs" just fine!

The only part I have left to write is the Custom Boomerang's behavior code. Thanks to a handful of PZC-goers in the thread I linked you to, I was pointed in the right direction to write this routine, and I finally think I'm getting somewhere with it. I think I've got this!

And it'll absolutely warrant a video when it's done, trust me.

YAY! Glad to hear it's back on track. And it's nice to know that it was just one enemy, actually, If you'll care that much about something so little as one enemy (often considered insignificant), and than I can only imagine how the quest will turn out. With that much care given to every little detail... this is gonna be awesome! Congrats on getting the script working!

VICTORY.

My Goriyas are complete. THEY WORK.

I have been at this almost two weeks and I DID IT AT LAST.

I have never been this excited in my entire life. I want to HUG EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU.

There will be a video showing what they can do to you.

But for now, here's the rundown:
* They throw a Boomerang, and will walk around while the boomerang is flying, unlike before.
* They can throw another Boomerang before their first one returns to them. The Boomerangs KNOW which Goriya threw them and will always return to their thrower.
* The Boomerangs can harm Felix during the return trip to the Goriya. They didn't do this before.
* If Felix is hit with a Boomerang, he will be completely paralyzed for three seconds, complete with his unique pose and animation for the "status condition".
* Different colors of Goriyas can throw Boomerangs with different timing, different quantity (the blue one throws two of them in quick succession), different speeds, and even different angles.
* They are one of the most dangerous threats you've ever seen when they are heavy in number. Not even kidding, they even freak me out to fight.

Video will be on its way hopefully soon! I think I'm gonna fill in some of the cave areas now, and put Goriyas in them, so you'll see some areas where I'm actually using them instead of "filler" or test areas.

This Quest will be a monster, guys. Finishing these Goriyas has completely re-kindled my exhausted disposition with ZC lately, causing my imagination to explode with wild colors at what the future could hold. This endeavor I've taken on, and somehow succeeded at, has also given me a sense of clarity and direction like never before, as if I've touched a whole new world with my hands-- stroked its silky, quilt-like reality with my super-sensitive Aspie palms, feeling its waiting warmth as if it and I were searching each-other out our whole lives. I've been given a taste of what Zelda Classic can REALLY do when its wielder taps into its deeper mana pools. This is what I've been trying to envision for Project RCS, and I can see it in front of me now. I know where I'm taking this game-- wait, no. I know where this game is taking me. And I'm beyond happy to say that.

Thank you, everyone, for believing, and thank you even more for such brilliant support where I thought I may have hit the Titanic's iceberg. I would be nothing without my wonderful friends.

Thank you sooo... sooo much. icon_cool.gif

OH RIGHT. One moment! *backs up all my files* icon_lol.gif There are some things I've resolved not to forget anymore, ahaha!

Ah, from my siggy!

I don't know if I'm calling them Woodshades officially, but what I want is a shady little dude that doesn't show up terribly often, clad in a straw hat so you can't see its face. He likes to surprise attack you-- he hardly ever stops to fire, but he throws a very fast and grossly powerful dagger as his projectile attack. But I'm thinking I want to script him to have a second attack, too, that's manually and randomly "activated" if Felix is close enough and attacking with his sword, in which the Shade dodges the attack sorta like a Wizzrobe and throws multiple razor-discs or something, less damaging than the dagger though.

My thought is to have an unpredictable enemy, that's unpredictably encountered, tricky to have to fight, but beating him yields some pretty great item-drops, such as 20-Rupee drops, the Piece of Power or Guardian Acorn (which I need to make still O.o), Max Bombs, or other high-tier treasures.

The problem? I can't seem to draw a straw hat right. icon_aggravated.gif I made the thing look like a mushroom fairy instead of a shady humanoid. Made me so mad... Graphics like to kick my ass a lot, seems like.

Yes. Felix. Have you even read the first post of this thread?

I'm having to get on a lot more people's cases about that than I remember lately... icon_sweat.gif What is the deal with that?

OMG! You... just... blew... my... mind. You have left me completley spellbounded by your scripting knoledge. Even the devs have trouble competing with your scripting prowess. If I had to fight ten of those highest level Goryas or ten regular Deathknights in a quest, I would choose the Deathknights.

I would imagine suddenly getting caught, right outside a screen with a savepoint, by him and getting killed when he unleashes his dagger; all of it after making some huge acomplishment before I could save, having not remeber that he could appear at almost anytime in your quest. Things like this helps you to stay on your toes and places bigger stakes so you HAVE to know what your are doing 99% of the time or a huge amount of progress could go down the drain due to one little mistake.

Schwa, has anybody ever told you you're a ZC god? That sounds seriously amazing. You're definitely using 2.5 to its full potential. I can't wait to see these guys in action.

On a side note, I love how excited you get. With most people, it's "Here's an update", which elicits a "Meh, neat" response from me. But with you, it's like "GUYS I JUST FINISHED THIS AND I'M SO EXCITED IT'S AMAZING!", which makes me go "WHOA THAT'S AWESOME I WANT IT NOW!" Your enthusiasm really spreads easily. Which is a good thing. icon_razz.gif

Keep up the great work!
