I live in Illinois, not sure why that really matters though. I doubt we'd ever work on something together (at least in person) even if you happened to live nearby. We can still talk on aim or msn though, if you want. I'm kinda done with questmaking for at least a few months, and if I do make another one, it's not going to be in 1.90.

And no, I haven't played HowHigh. It looks quite good though - I just have troubles running 1.90*, and you said that no other versions will work, so I haven't tried them yet.

* - yeah I know, kinda ironic. My older laptop won't run it at all, and this current one only does when it feels like it. It usually crashes after a few hours, and then I have to restart the computer to make it work again, and every time I try to turn the computer on, it dies on me and I have to wait like 5 minutes before trying again. It's quite annoying, so I try to always leave it on unless I absolutely have to restart or shut down.

Well, I just discovered that I'm a RETARD. I can't figure out how to do Level 3. I finished sections one and two, but I don't know what to do in three. I also seem to have sequence broken (is that a term?) and gone ahead towards level four, as I have the hookshot now. I don't think I was supposed to go there yet, but I really have no clue what to do for Level 3...

Yay for sequence breaking. But yeah, you can reach level 4 before 3, and 7 (and actually, 8 too) before 6.

anyway, for part 3 of level 3, you need to use the sword on the statue that's slightly greenish. Then ... well it's pretty straightforward, so I'm guessing that was where you got stuck. You need to find cheese on the last screen though.

Well, the first sentence of my last post is true then. I literally did EVERYTHING else to EVERY statue. I used arrows, bombs, boomerang, hookshot (after sequence breaking), and pushing in every direction. I hate myself...

Anyways, I liked level 4 a lot. Dunno why. I think it was just the layout. Although it has given me an intense hate of Wizrobes...

EDIT: Uh... What am I supposed to do with the Superbombs? I can't think of anywhere that they'd be useful...

Blue blocks in level 5.

*shortest post ever*

EDIT: The reasoning behind using the sword is based on that segment being the Cut Man part. You would know this by either looking at the readme, recognizing the music, or looking up the music in the MIDI info thing. I guess that is kinda obscure, but that's sort of the point.

HowHigh is reported to work just fine in 1.9x, the x being variable, so feel free to give it a run in 1.92bwhatever, if you are at all interested. oh, well; sucks you don't want to work in 1.9x anymore, as you are damned good at it, but it is what it is. I'm going to go back through level one, now, and see where I missed the better boomerang. I don't have the key to the right side's locked door, though...

Wow, I need to think a little more...

Few things about Level 5:

1) I hate you for the boss. My most hated boss, plus a bubble that makes it so I can't attack? You jerk.

2)Continue(?) bug. Only happens when you get killed, not when you F6 and continue. You appear where you normally do, but you can only move out of the dungeon. You can come back in and it's fixed, but it's kinda annoying.

3) Extra key. I used it anyways, but because of the way the warps are set up I was able to skip one of the locked doors. You might be able to skip more, but I don't know.

EDIT: Uh... Bonus area: Is it just those three screens of evil and death by strange... things? Or am I missing something?

1) Makes up for the complete lack of any other enemies in the level, I guess. Funny story - I once beat it while standing on the spot where the heart container spawns. I had 1 heart at the time, with a fireball like an inch away. So I picked up the heart container and then immediately got hit by the fireball, dropping back down to 1 heart again. That was certainly a close one.

2) I'm aware of the continue bug, and ... now that I think about it, I might be able to fix that. *writes it down*

3) Wait, you can skip a door? How? I was pretty sure that I didn't have any skippable, but I'm definitely looking into that.

4) The bonus level uses every item you have in the order they're listed on the pause screen. So you're probably on the one where you have to use bombs. Don't bother with that until you have all the items though, or you'll just hit a dead-end.

Oh, and if I do make another quest, chances are it will be in 1.92. 2.10 doesn't have any benefits that I can think of that would warrant using it.

I don't recall exactly how I did it. In the section after blowing up the blue blocks I didn't grab the key next to the warp to the second room in the locked hallway as I refer to it. In the water are I grabbed everything and there was a warp to past the locked door, so I skipped that door and went on.

Now, where in the world is Carmen San Di-- I mean, the Lens and Medallion of Truth?

EDIT: *Sigh* Again my retardation holds true. I've been playing since this morning, finished two and a half dungeons, gotten pretty far ahead of where I was yesterday, haven't saved AT ALL, and then hit F8 instead of F6, don't read the message, hit enter, and lose it all. I HATE myself...

That sucks... sorry that you lost all that. And it has to be with the most annoying level, too.

As for the Lens and Medallion, they're in level 6, I think I explained them pretty well in previous posts. For the lens you pretty much just have to go through the "normal" path (if you reach any binary screens then you took a wrong turn somewhere - those are meant to be harder to find then the correct paths). For the medallion, you find it in the binary screens by pushing a 1 when you find them set up in the diamond shape that I use a lot (with stairs in the middle)

Where is lv6? I'm thinking it is the rafting maze. What are the directions to that? I've tried too many. Thanks for the help.

You have to get through the rafting maze (or as I like to call it, the land of a million secret jingles... seriously, that drives me completely insane) and then you can access almost all of the remainder of the overworld. Level 6 is by a large waterfall thing sorta to the south, you need a super bomb to reach it.

Anyway for the rafting maze part, the cave beforehand basically tells you what to do. There's four different objects (a flat rock, cut bush, armos, and hammer stump), each assigned to a direction. On each screen of the maze, it shows some objects, and you have to go in their designated directions in order.

If you look in the cave right before it you'll see things in each direction. Stone on top, bush on left, peg thing on right, statue on bottom. Then you'll see them in the maze. Just go in the direction of whatever's there.

Anyways, while I'm too depressed to play, I might as well give my opinion on the first, uh, I guess half or so of the game.

The idea of having two halves of Level 1 (one for each item) was really cool in my opinion. Level 2 was good. I'm a fan of side-scrolling levels. Splitting Level 3 into the six parts was interesting, though in parts 4 and 6 you can get stuck if you don't have the items you need. Level 4 was interesting. The climb to get the whistle/ocarina and then using it to get to the clouds was pretty fun, thoguh I now HATE Wizrobes. Level 5 was a good level, but it combined three things I hate; mazes, raft areas, and that boss (whose name I forget out of hate). The raft maze was an interesting idea, though the secret jingles get annoying. Finding the heart pieces was always fun, especially wondering how to get one and then five minutes later getting it and going "Oh, so THAT'S how I do it!" Overall, I enjoyed this half I've played, and hope the second half is as good/better.

that's where I am, too. I died after getting the second three-stair-warp open, so the final path there is where I need to go. great quest. Pikdip2 is easily the best custom quest I've ever played. very creative. there are so many things I would like to address, but I assume this is a completed quest (by which I mean you are moving on) and I should really only point out errors. there were a couple I wrote down this time, but I'll save them for later. was there any open space in the tile pages? some of my issues were with the tile selection. I know you've been working on this for years, but I hope you continue with it, too. there is room for improvement in most every place the weirdness creeps in.

I do have room in the tile pages, but not the combo pages. Feel free to point out things that should be corrected though, and I'll see what I can do about it. For example, the boulders on the rock walls have a shadow that is LIGHTER than the actual ground. I have no idea why I never corrected that.

Anyway, thanks a lot for the positive comments! I find it hard to believe that this is the best quest you've played, since it definitely does have its flaws. But I'll take the compliment anyway, and I understand that people have different tastes. Being a fellow 1.90 user, I'm sure you can appreciate some of the effort that went into it despite all the limitations.

I hope you enjoy the second half of the quest. Level 6 is a bit frustrating, but I like the concept of it. 7 is generally regarded as being the best (though I also find it kinda empty), and 8 is like a mishmash of the sidescrolling from 2 and the mazeness of 5. Except ... less annoying. And then the ending is hands-down the best part of the game, at least I think so.
