I'm working on the 5th area right now. (I can't remember what it's called. I think it's Yogurt Yard? Or Grape Garden. Ack, it doesn't matter, you know what I mean.)

It's Yogurt Yard. Chart:

1) Vegetable Valley <--Done
2) Ice cream Islands <--Done
3) Butter Building <--Done
4) Grape Garden <--Done, I think
5) Yogurt Yard <--Blaman is working on
6) Orange Ocean <--No progress yet
7) Rainbow Resort <-- I'm currently working on

Sorry for not updating regularly... I'm running low on motivation. But to help, I'm starting a new project, which I think has a lot of promise... I'll reveal it in a little while.

Anyways, how's Yogurt Yard coming, blaman?

I haven't actually done anything since adding the passive subscreen though really cause I've been so damned busy =(

We can do this, there's not much more to rip. Just Orange Ocean and Rainbow Resort! icon_biggrin.gif I'm just about finished Yogurt Yard, so I'll get started on Orange Ocean soon.

Hey Joe, I was wondering, are you planning on integrating jump-through platforms? That would be very nice! It would be even better if you could press down to fall beneath the platform...

I'm also planning on doing those diagonal platforms you want so much at some point too.


EDIT:
The passive subscreen's now pretty much sorted, apart from lives and scoring, and the slide tackle now deals damage.
Kirby will also damage enemies by falling onto them, although he won't bounce back up a little, because I haven't yet added that code.
Enemies being sucked in by Kirby now move faster, on request.
I've recoloured the 'suck dots' to black and white.
Enemies 'above' Kirby are still inhaled I'm afraid, and I think it'll pretty much have to stay that way.
That's about all for now.
I think I'm going to spend a while noting up the code so that someone else (or me if I were to leave it and come back) would still be able to work out what it does.


And just on a side note, did you want me to integrate the platforms with respect to 'jump' or with respect to 'through'?

ALSO!!! I totally forgot, but what's a Kirby game without warp-stars? Could you make a simple script (in your free time, of course) where if you touch a warp star, the warp star disappears (maybe along with Kirby) and a combo with Kirby on a warpstar flies straight up or sideways? (depending on what you put in an Argument: 1 for up, 2 for left, 3 for right, 4 for down... or something to that extent)

I guess that script isn't really needed, so if you don't feel like making it, I don't really mind... It just popped in my head is all.

But if you do feel like making it and going the extra mile, maybe make the warp star spit little stars trailing behind it, like in the GBA games...? (I don't know if that happened in the original KA... icon_razz.gif )

It was a joke.
Admitedly, it was a calculus joke, so that may lower the chance of any body else ever finding it even remotely funny.
But either way, I wasn't being serious.



Anyway, yes, of course we'll have warp stars.
Got to learn to walk before we can run though; remember that currently we don't have any enemies or ability scripts.

Oh, and about those little stars.
In Kirby, those little stars fly off of just about everything, and I personally think that really adds something pretty special - and certainly stereotypically Kirby - to the graphics.
It's something that I definately plan to add, but not just yet.
Functionality before graphics.

We now have active subscreen!
That was certainly more complicated than I thought.

And the script also works with Keese, as well as Fire enemies!
Wooooo!

I think I'm gonna try adding in a power now.
Probably laser, cause it's pretty simplistic.
Wish me luck guys!

EDIT:
Oh, I have to make the little animation for when you swallow an enemy with a power, and Kirby changes graphics when he uses Laser *sigh*
I can't be bothered right now.
I'll have a go later.
