So the lava stays. But I will improve the colors I guess. The lava could be more orange-ish as Radien suggested.

Mario 64 lava is a pretty good representation of the colour you should be aiming for.
A deep red with black floaties would be most fitting.

No. In the daylight, lava is red. Only at night or in very low light is it bright orange/yellow.

If we want to get as realistic results as possible, then yeah. Hmm well, I have to negotiate with Wolfie about this.
BTW, sotw 153 could start already. Can't wait to see how disap... er, awesome NoeL's screen is! He he.

This is my plan, to get everyones expectations down as low as possible, that way there wont be as much disappointment and I could still win
... oops! Probably shouldn't have said that...

yes, that quest, as far as I know, is defunct. He isn't planning on resuming that. Although asking for that duck for cream and sugar and then ditching the coffee was fething hilarious!

That makes sense. I do like black floaties, personally, heh.
Admittedly, both MC and DoR lava have their limitations. DoR lava does not look good with the old Pure trick of "waterfall used for lava flows," since the animation shows it sitting around and smoldering rather than bubbling or flowing.
And yes, both DoR and MC lava would undoubtedly use up an entire CSet. I don't find that to be a huge problem for overworlds since I can nix the water CSet in my quest, but I can't speak for what Peteo and DFW have set up.
Anyway, you might want to give it a try on a screen or two, even if it ends up being obviously impractical.
P.S. -
If you change your existing lava palette, my personal suggestion is to make it more reddish, rather than orangish. Partially because of what NoeL said, but also partially because red doesn't have to be nearly as bright to look just as good.

As far as the current lava goes in Peteo's shot, which I'm not sure if I commented on or not (too lazy to check), I think it should be changed, but only in color. As it is, it's too pastel, and makes the rest of the screen look funny. If anything, make the dark red pure red, and have it fade into the duller light red, if that makes any sense. That screen desperately needs some bold color (again, this comment is assuming I didn't comment on the screen before)

Yeah, I think I've learned I don't have the passion for questmaking, at least not on my own. I'll be into it one week, then won't touch it for months. If I was ever to finish another quest it'd have to be a joint effort with someone really passionate about ZC who could rekindle my flame after it dies to an ember... eck, now I'm a poet???
So, unless someone wants to make a quest with me all you're likely to see is loose tiles and random entries in SOTW

You think so? It looks more like water and less like lava, to me. When compared with LTTP/Pure waterfalls, I mean.
DoR lava essentially isn't meant to have "lavafalls." In Alundra, the game it was based on, there were no lavafalls at all. All magma was in standing pools. The closest they had to moving lava were platforms that floated on top, and various firey objects/enemies that came out of the lava.
Really? I must've missed that...
I'd like to take a look at them, just for kicks, though I obviously already have some lava that I'm sticking with.
I actually agree. Well, that's one of several possible solutions.
I guess it depends largely on the "feel" of Lost Isle, but the screenshots I've seen haven't given me enough of a view of the quest as a whole for me to know what they're going for, so I'm afraid only DFW and Peteo can make that call.

*gets shot*
NoeL, if you aren't going to make quests, then why don't you release practically any of the awesome tiles you draw?
EDIT: Oops, hit the button twice.
