Well, I was going to play Half Life: Blue Shift, but apparently it hates me. In the first chapter, when I try to board an elevator, the other passengers randomly explode without warning, giving me a game over. And I have no idea why...

In the meantime, I'm preparing to play White 2, and possibly Black Mesa. I've already played through the second gym in a partial fan translation of White 2, and I've got a Dewott, Riolu, Flaffy, and Growlithe now (named Dewey, Claus, Phosphora, and Ember respectively). I might need to go back and read a little of the text that was untranslated, but it's not worth restarting the whole game at this point.

(I wouldn't recommend White 2. Black 2 has more exclusive Pokemon and has a harder difficulty mode, which White 2 does not have.)

Harder difficulty mode? Doesn't really matter too much for me since I normally go at Pokemon way underleveled anyways, but I'm curious about that. My reasons for going with White 2 (aside from that I played White) are same as why I picked White: I like the color better, I like the nature theme better than the technology theme, and I like Zekrom more than Reshiram (not sure it matters much here, seeing as Kyurem's the mascot for both, but whatever).

Wait, there's a difference between the two versions? It looks as though Black 2 is much better than White. Is there anything White has that Black doesn't?

EDIT: Just tested out my new controller on a copy of Ape Escape and an emulator. Works absolutely amazing! The only control issues I can find are the fault of the game itself. My only complaint about the controller is that the control pad and left stick are switched from a normal PlayStation controller, and the control sticks are a bit too tall for convenience, but other than that, it's just like having my old PlayStation working!

No no no, haven't you ever watched anime before!? When a guy peeps on a girl (especially in an onsen), the correct way for her to respond is to force him to have sex with her as punishment.

That's in Fable dude. icon_naughty.gif Make sure it's protected. icon_lol.gif If only if you knew about executions.

I did a Ctrl-F on this walkthrough for Rope, and found a few places here and there. Shady Sands has a some, in the various farmhouses in the village.

The town that's not on the map at the start, so I have to waste valuable time searching.

...This is one of those games where I have to waste a few characters just experimenting before I'll be able to even dream of actually beating it properly.

I managed to beat Hero's Trial 2 in FS after having one final attempt at it, having almost 3,500 rupees left. The room with six Gidbos wasn't too hard to beat after all, because you were supposed to use the Boomerang against them. I made one attempt at Hero's Trial 3 and I can already see that it is worse than Hero's Trial 2.
Pushed further into Paper Mario: TTYD. I beat Cortez with much less difficulty than I expected, given that I could do 10 HP (+ 1 from the burn that Vivian's Shade Fist induces) of damage per turn. Lord Crump was easy as pie too - I could do 15 HP of damage per turn to him and finished the battle quickly. Just gotta love the Flower Saver/Spin Jump combination.

Harder difficulty option that White 2 doesn't have? Where in the world did you get that from, because I believe that is just complete bogus. I simply don't believe that Gamefreak would pull this stunt.

Alright thread, time to choose what game I'm getting next.

Fallout 1
Alpha Protocol
Arcanum - Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura
Assassin's Creed 2
Batman: Arkham Asylum
Well shit, how the hell do you pick between Assassin's Creed 2 or Arkham Asylum? icon_confused2.gif

If you want to get deep into a great series (or further in if you've played the other games), go for AC2, it's a neat spin on history and turns the entirety of history into one big awesome conspiracy theory. Arkham Asylum will appeal to your inner Batman fanboy if you're into the Batman mythos, with great acting, story, and atmosphere. So you can't really go wrong with either.

Well, I'm gonna play all of them eventually. It's a question of when rather than if.

There's a bit on Serebii that outlines this stuff.

Though to be fair, you can send hard mode to someone with White 2 and send easy mode to someone with Black 2. Seems silly, but eh. I plan on getting Black 2 anyway. :3

I've been sorta playing Front Mission...again. I just can't get anywhere in that game. >_< Also been playing Touch my Katamari a little.

... What the hell Gamefreak? Why not have easy and hard modes on both games? ... and really, what's the point of unlocking easy mode after you beat the game?

In that case, I may or may not be cheating to unlock hard mode. (Hint: that means I am).

Still though... that's such an incredibly stupid decision. Why would they think that's a good idea?

I'm a little skeptical to get White 2. Especially when I have Code of Princess to get next week. It looks too much of the same game as its prequel only with different story, locations, and characters. icon_shrug.gif

It's the same logic behind version-exclusive pokemon. You either convince your parents to buy you two copies of the same game (and two consoles) or you convince your friends to start playing so you can get it from them.

Except I looked it up, and once your friend sends you hard mode, it only lasts until you shut off the system. So more like "Convince your friend to get the other version and then never turn off your DS ever". It's just plain idiotic.

More like "Convince all your friends to get the other version so you always have someone to leech it off of." It's absolutely ludicrous from a game design standpoint but Pokemon is one of those franchises that's colossal enough that they can do basically anything and still break sales records from brand recognition alone.
