Anyways, I suggest Victory Road (as GC said) until you can take on the Elite 4. If you have a Lucky Egg, I'd recommend transferring it, as it doubles the amount of EXP. obtained after a battle.

Really? I found it rather a pain. I managed to get Misty and Morty's numbers before it got too annoying for me (Already had Blaine and Bugsy's).

I just think it would be tedious to restart, change time/date, shut down, turn on, load game, fight gym leader, repeat.

You can fight the gym leader as many times as you want at that time period. Just exit the dojo and call again.

I just focused on one Pokémon at a time. Got it to level 85, saved, and started working on a different leader.

Maybe I should explain better...I already have all 16 badges, but my team right now would get their asses handed to them by Red and the upgraded Elite Four. So Mt. Silver foothills? I really don't feel like dragging an HM Slave around...
