You know, there's an event that will give away one shiny dog in Japan right now, and it's coming out here soon. A shiny Suicune won't be so incredibly then. Go for something else, like a shiny Articuno or something.

Edit: Post 1,000 in this thread!

There's no guarantee it will come here. Japan has gotten events that we haven't more than once, if I remember correctly.

It wouldn't be possible in one game to catch all shiney pokemon... I wonder if someone has done that though? I think Nintendo should have a million dollar prize for whoever can do this first. I'd bet you a million dollars the guy who'd win it would have a neck beard icon_frown.gif

Well, if you have all the Pokemon, you can simply do a crap load of RNGing. It's not using an external cheating device, so it wouldn't exactly be hacking. Just glitch exploiting. icon_razz.gif

Quoting the person above you is silly.

Have the Celebi and Arceus events came to the U.S yet? I really want to unlock those events in Heartgold. Especially the Arceus one.

Not sure... the only ones I've heard about were the Giratina and Darkrai events. I think Nintendo keeps these events on the DL... 'Cuz I don't hear about it unless someone else tells me.

Arceus event came and went awhile ago. It was before the release of HG/SS. (You had to download it the same way you got the Pichu and Jirachi, onto D/P/P then transfer it over to HG/SS.)

It unlocks something in Black and White, so chances are it will come here.

Arceus came way back in November. Celebii just came out in Japan, and will come out here soon.

OH GAWD. OHHHH GAWD.

Guess who caught Raikou?! icon_biggrin.gif icon_biggrin.gif icon_biggrin.gif icon_biggrin.gif

YESSSSSSSSSS Finally! Little *****. Took nearly a week and just about 50 ultra balls, but I DIDS IT. So... after that, I was at a loss for what to do. Realizing this, I decided, "What the hell, I'll go for Groudon." But, uh, I know you need to get the orb from Mr. Pokemon... but when I go talk to him, he doesn't give it. Just says something and that's that. I know I don't already have it because it's not in my key items, so how do I get the red orb from him? >___>

Edit: Derp derp, never mind. I looked it up. icon_deformed.gif

Tried my hand at catching Raikou and Entei only to fail horribly. icon_deformed.gif I couldn't even get them to be on the same route as me. Meh, whatever.

Focusing on building a balanced team, training them, and then I'm gonna pwn Red.
...
Maybe...

Super wut?

I don't typically have trouble catching legendaries, other than stupid Raikou. Sometimes I'll hit it too hard, and it's like "Whoops, I killed it. *restart*" But usually, I have a pretty good arsenal of Pokeballs to hurl at stuff. What I believe is important is to lower their stats first (I always lower accuracy and attack so that they don't kill me and I concern myself with healing instead of catching the legendary). Then of course, knock HP down to as low as you can get it, followed by paralysis or sleep. Dusk balls are my favorite kind of Pokeball to use. Only downside is that they aren't really effective during the day.

I'm training my team pretty vigorously right now. Here's what it looks like:

PRFCT HAIR -- level 63 Gengar
MAD HATTER -- level 61 Typhlosion
ALICE -- level 63 Ampharos
ROCKLOBSTR -- level 62 shiny Gyarados
TWEEDLEDEE -- level 60 Pidgeot
Orafice -- level 98 Togekiss (I'm cheating here-- imported from my Diamond icon_deformed.gif )

I didn't know what else to put in my sixth team slot! So I imported! I didn't want to train another Togepi! Took forever and it wasn't really enjoyable until it evolved up to Togekiss.

Um... What? icon_eek.gif

Well, anyways, just because I could, I went out with my Pichu and found five Shiny Leaves, which got turned into a Leaf Crown. The thing is... wtf does it do? Absolutely nothing. So what's the point? Aren't video games supposed to be beyond the point where you collect things just for the heck of it? icon_shrug.gif

On a side note, traded for an Empoleon in the GTS. They wanted a Feraligatr in exchange, and I had a Totodile egg in waiting, so I figured why not? I'm never gonna use the Feraligatr, and if I wat one, I'll just hatch the egg and train it again... So yeah, got the Empoleon, bred it, now have a Piplup.

But that's not all. I don't know if the user forgot or not, but it was holding a Skull Fossil, which I had converted into a Cranidos. So basically I ended up getting two Pokémon for one. Not a bad deal. icon_biggrin.gif

It shouldn't be that hard to figure out what he was saying? :O He simply *'d out the other two letters as not to offend anybody. Of course, I don't support calling things/people such a thing, though I guess it's not really my business.

Anyways, I transferred over all of my good Pokemon from Platinum. I'm debating whether or not to just knock Red out in a second with them, or to train my original play-through team to be fair. icon_confused.gif

As far as this goes, I am going to be training (mostly-- minus one) my original play-through team. I think it defeats the purpose of annihilating Red if you transfer over stronger Pokemon and do it.

I'd suggest grinding out on Victory Road. I grind on Mt. Silver, but you can't get over there yet. Most Pokemon battles over there yield just under 1,000 exp. each.

Unless you wanna switch your clock around a lot and do gym leader rematches...

Edit: PS, I made it through the Elite Four with a team in their mid 50s.
