You mean the Outer Wall? That is just for shortcuts, and yes, you can clear the top floor, too. Whenever you get to a new section, there will be a door leading out to the Outer Wall. You go there, find switch, go back to section. When you first arrive to a floor, you can't clear anything, since then you would skip some rooms. So, you can start clearing the Outer Wall when you reach Falling Corridor. Around its middle, you can go north. There you can clear 1-2 statues left and/or right.

If you mean the simple blocks at the Square Well, they can't be removed.

ok i have tried countless times and this quest will not work for me and i cannot figure out why, i can only guess theres a problem with the compatibility of the quest file, and thwe version of zc 2.10 that i have,.... i cant figure out why so many ppl can get it to work and others cant... perhaps other "builds" of zc 2.10 will work, but i forget where to get those, and i can only find 1 for download on the zeldaclassic.com site, which is confirmed to not work for me with this quest.

the problem is the intro scenes with the talking.... and it doesnt always crash on the same spot either, its TOTALLY RANDOM when it crashes. i have tried countless times as i said to run this quest and ive noticed sometimes it will crash INSTANTLY, but usually it will crash the very second when the screen is meant to change from the "peaceful" one to the "ganon" one. about 70% of my crashes have been at this exact moment. it might be possible that the game would work for me if i had a way to skip the intro... then again it might not. if an introless version exists i would like to try it if its not too much trouble.

oh, and before anyone suggests its a problem with my windows version or anything, i think not because i have played probably about 50 quests before this and NOT ONE had this problem, so i dont think my comp is the issue, or im sure i would be having a problem with loading so many quests not just 1. i cant understand why it wouldnt always crash on the same spot though, perhaps there is a bug in the intro, or mabye even the talking scripts.

i have tried uninstalling and reinstalling twice and it refuses to work, though once i was actually able to get past the 1st line of text on the ganon screen which surprised me.... but that has never happened again. perhaps if i had another build of zc 2.10 (besides the one on zeldaclassic.com) it might work, so if anyone can link me to a build of zc 2.10 that is CONFIRMED to work for them for this quest, i would like to give it a try, thanks.

Anyway, what system do you use:

Windows XP?

Windows Vista?

Linux?

Macintosh?

Other?

Maybe it's because the quest file is quite big or maybe your computer doesn't work so well.

I know what's the problem.
About 3-4 people had it so far. Unfortunately, if a quest file is huge and has an enormous amount of strings, then it keeps crashing at random strings, for example right at the intro. Even if I sent you a version without the intro, it would crash at any other string. Reinstalling doesn't help. Most people simply doesn't have this problem, but very few ones have it and can't solve anyhow. All I can suggest is to play BB with another window size, it's untested if the problem occurs at small window or medium window, too, not only at full screen. If even this doesn't work, you can't play BB on that computer which you tried on... icon_sorry.gif

i tried playing on another window size like you said, fullscreen to be exact, because all my crashes were happening with window mode... and i discovered something.

this is extremely weird, becasuse in fullscreen i am able to get a LOT farther.... yet still not past the intro totally. i tried like 10-15 times, and 90% of the time, i am able to make it to knils room (past the "title") where he is talking to myra... and they are discussing leaving hyrule etc, but during this long conversation it will crash sooner or later, sometimes right away, and other times after several sentences. its a shame because i think at this point im very close to getting past the intro icon_frown.gif

if it has a tendency to crash for me during ANY talking sequence and not just the intro, then i might as well give up because even if after several tries i luck out and pass the intro, ill still encounter MANY other talking "cutscenes" later in the game im sure, and ill probably have the same problem with those too.... unless its ONLY the intro strings which are unstable for me, but i really doubt that.

so in conclusion, fullscreen seems to have made it just a little more stable, but nowhere close to stable enough, i dont think i can play this quest icon_frown.gif

and if it matters at all, i use windows xp.... i dont think it matters though because lots of other ppl use windows xp and im sure they can get it to work.

IMPORTANT EDIT: i have just gotten it to work, but NOT with that same version of zc 2.10 i was trying at 1st. i think it was zc 2.10.0 and the one that is now working for me is zc 2.10.2... it seems to make quite a difference as i got past the intro on the 1st try with this version. just in case anyone else is having the same problem as me, you should try the same link i did to make the game work: http://www.armageddo...es/zc2102wl.zip

the one that would NOT work for me was:

this makes me think even more that the strings in the quest file conflict SPECIFICALLY with that copy of zc in the 2nd link, and not with other versions, though i of course have not gone out of my way to test other ones besides 2.10.0 and 2.10.2

Great Quest!!! Working though Steaming Systems, Lower Lava Floor F1. How to get the key that is blocked by the gate in the lower right hand corner of the floor, accessed by the left-to-right path through the lava. Killed the monsters but the gate stays in place. What am I missing? Thanks for a reply!!

I love that you love BB! To get the key, flip one of the switches. Just keep walking before them, half tile lower than those switches and the key soon gets unblocked. icon_wink.gif icon_thumbsup.gif

Thanks for the help!! Guess I expected the fence to fall when the enemies were gone. Now I am in the Garden Gallery and there seems to be a glitch. There is a room on the Hanging Floor F2, far right side, 4th room from the bottom. There are trwo paths, left-to-right and bottom-to-top. There is a small magic container in the middle of the two paths. When you arrive at the left side, you walk over a button that removes the flower pots blocking the bottom-to-top pathway. However, when you arrive at the bottom from another link, the flower pots are back in place and you can not proceed. Am I missing something? Your advice would be greatly appreciated as it seems I am stuck and can not go any further. Thanks for a reply!!

(2 hours later . . .) figured it out. There are two identical rooms. Well thought out, challanging design.

so far it seems to be working fine in version 2.10.2, i got your message though saying it was meant for 2.10.0 but i cannot get it to work with that no matter how hard i try. at least it works on 2.10.2 which is good enough for me i just hope theres no bugs.

i cannot use the sfx file though, because if i try to replace the one in my zc folder with that one, the program wont even start. so i am having to go without the extra sound effects, which i did not want to do but i have no choice.

the game has still crashed for me ONCE even with 2.10.2 but so far thats the only time. it crashed when i tried to get that red pearl thing (i forget the name) from knils house, but the next time i tried it i was able to do it just fine. so now i am making sure i save VERY often just in case i get unexpected crashes like that again, but so far that has been the only one time.

by the way i would like to point out something, i dont know if this is a bug but i have noticed the people that give 100 rupees both in that bombable cave a couple screens north of the windmill, and in that watermill in the southwest of lake hylia give INFINITE rupees. they will give only 100, but you can go back as much as you like to keep getting those 100 rupees.... i dont know if you planned it this way but i figure id bring it to your attention, since i dont think this is intended to happen.

anyways this is an excellent quest, i like it so far

The infinite money wasn't intended, but I left it in for fun and as a reward for those whos find it. I knew about the north Hyrule Field place, but I didn't know that the one in Lake Hylia is infinite, too! It was Jerome who found the former at first, and seems like you are the first to find the one in Lake Hylia.

I completed level 3 (which was wonderfully designed btw) and went to get the master sword in Death Mountain. The problem is, I don't have the white sword to trigger the switch to pick up the master sword. Where is the white sword?

What you call "white sword" is the Master Sword. You need to go to the castle (east Hyrule Field) and shoot a glowing window to make progress. Long after that, when yoou have the Master Sword, go back to Mt.Death with it.

hmm i have a question about the lens:

i have been using it a LOT (every screen) due to the amount of secrets hidden everywhere with obscure triggers, and i am starting to notice something, sometimes the lens will reveal things, but does not reveal a trigger for them, such as the following examples:

in the mt death caves, upon entering and going a bit to the left there is a piece of heart on a ledge with an arrow block, and i cannot get up there but if i use the lens it shows 1 tile of the wall missing, i cannot figure out how to make this tile vanish though as there is no item shown on this tile.

also in the mt death caves (different area) there is a heart piece behind a large rock at the end of a "diagonal room", and if i use the lens this it shows this missing, but doesnt show and item trigger so i cannot figure out how to get the heart piece or make that rock vanish

i have also seen somewhere on death mountain a screen with lots of moblins and a rock in the middle that when viewed through the lens shows a hole, but again no item trigger so i cannot figure out how to make the rock go away.... weird

i think there was more places like this too, where i saw obstacles vanish through the lens, but it does not show an item, in these cases what am i supposed to do to make these obstacles vanish? are there places in the game where the lens purposely does not show what item is needed to make the player try everything? i thought it would always show the item but i need to know if this is the case or not.

also 1 more question: i found the boss key in the mt death caves as well as the boss door, but after i open the door there is 2 arrow blocks blocking my path, i cannot push them and the lens reveals nothing... how to get rid of the arrow blocks here?

As for lens: if the lens doesn't show what item needs to be used, then you need to use an item on another tile or step on a switch or activate an one timed event. So, if there's a crystal at the left of the screen and a door at the right, and you need to use arrow on the switch to open the door, then the lens show an arrow over the switch, but doesn't show any items on the door, just an opened door.
As for boss key and door at Mt.Death: download the latest update and so you can push the blocks. Otherwise you will be able to push it only after killing a certain manhandla in the caves.
