That story about the wind is hilarious.

So technically they are trying to build an open world that's not as buggy as fuck like your typical Bethesda game. :P This is the kind of stuff Bethesda would probably greenlight during the development process because they don't really even care all that much as long as the games are playable. lol

Welp, they're gonna remain cryptic on the timeline, though to be honest I almost interpret his quote as "meh not even we care about the timeline anymore lol." New hypothesis: The entire game's just a training simulation. :tard:

I'd hardly call that cryptic. Throughout the development cycle, they've made lots of little nods to Zelda I and II (at the end of the timeline in a fairly apocalyptic future, going off Hyrule Historia), and now they're going "Well we won't say where it is, but keep in mind that the trailer refers to repeated attacks by Ganon that unfold through all the other games..." It seems pretty clear to me that this is at the end of the Downfall Timeline. I'd wager at the very end, after Zelda I and II, but I can see it taking place before them as well. Either way, if it's not somewhere down there in the Downfall Timeline, I'll be very surprised.

Gonna spoiler this just in case, but possible confirmation of the old man's identity based on something that was out in the open since E3.

I have a small thought/theory.

What if all the scenes with Zelda and Link are all flashback scenes? This would explain why Link is always wearing his blue garb, and it being destroyed from battles and stuff. Either way...it's all amazing.

Oh yeah, those are definitely flashback scenes.  Like, it's clear that we're getting the story through flashbacks, through characters like the Deku Tree telling Link what happened (as he said he would in the trailer).  How else would we get those scenes if the game starts with Link waking up with no recollection of anything that's happened?

This is basically what I'm thinking the basics of the story will end up being: The guardians are techno-magic tanks created to protect Hyrule, but at some point Ganon corrupts them and basically "reverses their programming."  Link dies trying to protect Zelda during all this (it's a losing war, as Hyrule is already in ruins and the Master Sword has already rusted before Link wakes up), so the sages have no choice but to trap Ganon in Hyrule Castle.   Link is brought to the Shrine of Resurrection to be restored, and Zelda brings the Master Sword to the Deku Tree for safekeeping once Link re-awakens.

Also, something else I noticed that I wanted to point out... During the Switch's Treehouse presentation of the game, there's an NPC they talked to that wants Link to tame this white horse and bring it back.  He specifically mentions that he believes it to be descended from one of the royal family's horses because they had a pure white horse, and his grandfather would see them take it to graze at the same location where this one lives.  And we've seen a pure white horse once before.

I agree with you! It's all starting to make sense in the most basic sense. But I wonder what truly happened...

And yeah, I saw that too. I immediately thought of Zelda's/the Royal Family's white horse!

In other news, here is an orchestration of the trailer music! I can't stop listening to it: https://www.youtube....h?v=kZsbtOZWG4o

Technically speaking, it's like Fallout 4. We'll take Hyrule back one settlement at a time.

Two small bits of news.

No HD rumble features apparently, which, eh, no big deal to me.

Decently sizable info dump from a recent Aonuma interview on the game. Thing I want to focus on are these two points:

– Nintendo has done away with dungeons that have a particular theme

– Even if you come across a shrine located in a forest, it won’t necessarily carry that theme

... I'm worried and cautiously optimistic. We'll see how that goes, but themes generally made dungeons more memorable in the past. However, they also made things more repetitive... What with all the fire, forest, and water-themed dungeons we've had over and over. Sometimes they got clever twists, other times, not so much. Wonder what that means as far as what specific dungeons we'll run into in this game...

This is a short article, but if it wasn't said already, looks like we will be getting full voice acting. The second paragraph is interesting cause it seems like they thought it would be weird in past games if everyone talked except Link.. Could this be taken to mean he might not be completely mute? Who knows, Aonuma can be annoyingly vague and cryptic at times. He also really likes the words, "fun", "new", and "changes", heh.

To be fair, Link spoke every time you give an answer, especially answers with more words than just "Yes" or "No" such as "I hate Ganondorf!" (plus yells)

That's true, and Link even says, "Come on!" in Wind Waker which is the only spoken phrase in the series besides Navi's three to four words. But outside of grunts, and text answers he's never really had a character of his own were he speaks his mind. That's also in part cause they have always intended for you to fill in the blanks for Link since you are Link. :P

All cutscenes will feature voice acting, no indication as to WHO in the cutscenes will be voiced though.

The Completionist did an interview with Aonuma and Miyamoto about Breath of the Wild. It's a very interesting interview, and I'm not sure about the accuracy of the quote in the title, but still worth a watch.

That could have just meant the Shrines, right? I'd really like themed dungeons, but I'm sure the dungeons will be great either way.

That's what I'm hoping, at least.
