That's what you get for calling him a peabrain. Remember to equip element-boosting cores. It makes one hell of a difference in battle. Wait until you get the runner spell and the ability to teleport to enemies. Very useful for cancelling enemy attacks. Also, you'll probably agree that Ulf is an annoying, useless character.

Thanks for the tips, I'll keep them in mind. And yes I'll agree Ulf is useless and annoying... Please tell me I'll get a different character at some point?

I used my Ulf as a "Synergist." Just give him Runner and Diggin' and he'll be more useful. And no, you're stuck with Ulf for the remainder of the game. All in all, you're probably going to rely on Alfina, Dahna, and maybe even Yuki to deal massive damage on enemies. Ulf is probably only good at cancelling enemy attacks, but once you get Hect, that character will completely outscore him. Air comboes also deal heavy damage. I suggest starting with Dahna because her attacks are long range, followed by Yuki (there's a skill that adds additional combo hits) and Alfina, and then ALWAYS use Ulf as a finisher.

  1. Borderlands 2 - Currently a level 23 Assassin. About to go find the Vault Key and Angel.
  2. Torchlight 2 - I'm actually seconds away from starting it up, as of the creation of this post.
  3. Fallout New Vegas - Eh. Whatever I damn well feel like. icon_blah.gif
  4. Skyrim + Dawnguard - ... ditto.
  5. MS Paint - Just defeated the first boss. Also, did not know there were bosses.

I wanna play Borderlands 2, but I'd like to finish Borderlands 1 first. Which I've had installed for 6 months and have yet to open even a single time. Not even sure if it works.

...Yeah, same deal. What is it with me and installing games and then never playing them?

Due to my slow-ass download speeds I won't be able to play until tomorrow morning at the earliest. :/

I've started Playing Conkers Bad Fur Day (N64 version). I was thinking about playing it on my console.
But I decided to just play it on Project 64, Which runs it pretty good so far icon_smile.gif

Yeah PJ64 runs it well, you should use the latest Glide64 plugin if you want the most accurate visuals and the pause screen not being all glitched visually. Though its a pretty system intensive plugin. it's playable with default plugin, you'll just miss out on the blur effect when ever you pause the game and other blur effects amongst other fairly minor stuff.

@franpa: Yeah I've been using the Glide64 plugin. being it gives the most accurate graphics for this one game.
Have to say one other thing... shoot multiplayer is still addictive on Conker's Bad Fur Day... Been playing it all night with my friends >.<.

Got that damn achievement in Sonic 4: Episode II where you have to play through all the stages without exiting to the world map. I've attempted it twice before; first time, messed up on the fifth-to-last stage by missing the button, second time, got into the seventh special stage and instead tried to focus on that (and failed cuz it's damn difficult), but now I got it. Only five achievements left though... which involve playing some of the worst stages in the game. That is, every stage in Oil Desert Zone, including the boss. icon_sweat.gif

So, I switched from the original Metroid Prime to the version with Wii controls. Oh my God does it make a huge difference! I managed to reclaim a couple days worth of progress in only a couple hours, didn't lose a single life, and actually got to go farther than I had managed before.

I did notice a few changes, though. My original GameCube version didn't have nearly as many War Wasps everywhere. I realized it was because this version has the hives actually spawn them continuously while the old game only had them spawn them once. I don't know if it was an intentional change, a bug fix, or what, but my typical strategy of clearing out a room completely before doing anything wasn't getting me anywhere for quite a while until I realized I had to start actively destroying hives.

The room where you first obtain the Morph Ball seemed a bit different, with a ton more of those little beetle enemies appearing than what had happened before.

I'm starting to think that just possibly, the developers may have added more enemies, but made them individually weaker to compensate for the added ease that the motion controls give the player. I may be wrong, but even if that is the case, the motion controls make this game a lot easier, and a lot more fun. For one thing, I didn't have to worry about accidentally falling in the acid water during the fight against the wasp generating machine for the first Missile pack.

Also, you guys remember the trick from Super Metroid where you could time your bomb placement just right and manage to slowly fly across rooms? Is it supposed to work in this game, because if it isn't, then I think I might have sequence broke or something and gotten a Missile pack too early. I found a room where you needed to activate three locks on a huge box surrounding a Missile pack, and you activate them using bombs. The lowest lock is at floor level, the middle lock requires a bomb jump, and the highest lock was reachable by doing a double bomb jump. The thing is, the timing was so difficult that I'm starting to think that there was an upgrade I'm supposed to get later that I was supposed to use instead. (I'm playing this without a guide or map or anything)

Anyways, I managed to beat the plant boss, earn the Varia Suit, and accessed Magmoor Caverns with three Energy Tanks and 15 Missiles. So far, that plant boss was probably one of the most creative Metroid bosses I've ever seen, and was a lot of fun to fight. (I've only played Zero Mission, Super Metroid, and Metroid Fusion, but never actually finished Fusion. I had to wipe the hard drive that the emulator and ROM were on, and was only at the Nightmare battle.) Are the rest of the bosses like this, because the strategy behind this made me think a lot of a Zelda boss, and I'm starting to get some ideas from this game that I really want to try playing around with.

Okay, I swear I've got to have the strangest setup to play this game. The television in my room is broken and only occasionally produces sound. I'm at a point where I'm not getting any audio, even though everything else works. I don't have any speakers I can hook up or anything.

My Solution:

I got out a portable mini-TV and placed it on the floor in the middle of my bedroom. I plugged it in, and separated the audio/video cords from each other a bit more than they were before. The video cord is connected to the normal television, and the audio cords are connected to the mini-TV. I keep both of them running at the same time, and can play my game.

Probably one of the stupidest ideas I've ever had, but it works great!

On the GC version the bosses are much tougher, especially flaargra (sp?) the plant boss. Anyways no, you can't do an infinite morph ball bomb trick except in very, very specific circumstances where it is required. You can do at most a 4 bomb jump (Double jump height but requires 4 bombs to pull off iirc). There are various small shortcuts/items you can take advantage of once you master the the move.

There are lots of versions of the original game that were made, at least 2 for NA, one for Japan and 2 for Australia. Each of them features rebalancing, different monster layouts and various bug fixes etc. The Wii trilogy seems to be a mix of all the various versions. I prefer just the latest Australian version though :/

Yeah, I think I prefer the Wii version, to be honest. Fighting that boss, I didn't realize that a single Missile would flip the reflecting dishes, so I had to spam normal shots at it. I'd hate to know how difficult it would have been without the easier controls.

When you say bug fixes, does that limit sequence breaking? I liked how Super Metroid allowed you to do pretty much whatever you wanted in whatever order you wanted. It kind of sucks how they've been taking that out of the more recent games.

Once my schoolwork is done, I will continue LPing Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. I'm getting my headset on Friday so there will be voice in my next video.

I'm planning to get Code of Princess in 2 weeks. I want to clean up a few of my 3DS games. I need to finish Resident Evil: Revelations. I'm now 2 chapters away from beating the game. I was thinking of trying to finish Kid Icarus, but it's a surprisingly lengthy game.

Yes, it's still possible to do various sequence breaks but several were fixed.
