I know, I read it.
Pretty interesting, and you gotta love the guy!
But that exact glitch wasn't in the original.

Activate the spinning pot in Goron City, Link does that. Happened in the original OoT, still happens in the new OoT. That makes me wonder if it really was a glitch, or they were just trying to make this game extremely close to the original.

Glitch? But... you get a heart piece that way...

Anyway... Got my 3DS in April for my birthday in anticipation of the release of OoT. Pre-ordered through amazon, got delivered to my house when it came out. And now that I'm at the water temple again, I stopped the game to ponder: why did I want this? It's cool and everything, and the graphics are a lot prettier, however, I have OoT on my gamecube that I could have gone and played. Nothing would be in 3D, but the effect hurts my eyes, so I only have it on for boss battles anyway.

I think it's great to re-release it for a new console for a younger generation, but for people who already own OoT for another system... Wouldn't recommend buying it. If you were dying to see the transition from system to system, I'd suggest borrowing it or something.

The glitch is that Link kinda just turns around on the spot trying to look at the pot.

But does he constantly spin on the spot or just tries to face the object of importance during the cut scene? If the latter then I wouldn't consider that a bug.

He tries the latter but usually does the former as a result.

ZOMG that deku tree texture resolution!

11 more days is just too long a wait...(getting this on my birthday)

Also, interestingly enough, it seems the 3DS version allows you to advance through the opening cutscene quicker. That's a relief since the original took so damn long...

Edit: Currently watching a rather funny walkthrough of the game and am I mistaken, or did they change the Barinade battle ever so slightly?

Yeah doesn't he just spin in the same direction each time regardless of where the next point of interest is in relation to the first point of interest thus creating the appearance of him doing a full circle often?

I don't think they changed the Barrinade battle, but they did add more colors to his tentacles.

In MQ, Phantom Ganon did an attack I had never seen before. Sometimes instead of firing a ball at you, he will charge up his trident, and charge you. I don't ever remember seeing this in the original.

I'm almost done with the normal game. Do you have to make a new file or lose your progress in the normal game to start a Master Quest game?

Nope. From what I've seen it appears you get another 3 save files for Master Quest. Nifty!

Edit: It appears they removed a room from the forest temple! How DARE they!?

*sigh* Anyone want to help me with the Fishing Pond? I hated it back on the N64, and I hate it even more on the 3DS. For some reason I just can't get fish to bite, and when they do, they immediately escape. I know that I'm using the proper controls, and I can catch fish easily as a child, but for some reason they just don't like Adult Link.

Any tips?

Edit: I love that seconds after posting this, I caught a 15 pounder and got the Golden Scale.

The original. Unless I've gone absolutely mad, in the N64 version, the pit in the twisty corridor section dropped you into another room with some floormasters instead of directly into the falling ceiling room...

Also I hear that mini floormasters no longer choke you...GREZZO!

Huh. Well, I wouldn't know, the furthest I ever got pre-3DS version was, er, the miniboss in Jabu-Jabu. icon_heh.gif
