I assumed it was the rusted Master Sword from the logo.

The UK box-art definitely looks more colourful and pretty, but Link's pose looks incredibly weird and off for me. The US one looks really similar to that Z1 one that was posted earlier in this thread. But yeah I can't decide which one I like more, they're both pretty nice in their own ways I guess  :P

And about the sword, I can see it being more of a rusty broadsword too, the handle part doesn't look anything like the Master Sword to me.

Are we discussing what the sword in the boxart is? Guys I have a revelation: it's probably not significant and it doesn't matter. What I do know for sure though, is that we are some serious nerds, oh my god.

Remember that time when Aonuma said that Zelda U, now Breath of the Wild would fully utilize the Wii Gamepad?

Lets take a moment to LOL.

Actually, wasn't he all "let's not use the touchscreen, cause that's distracting"?

I think both are correct. Of course, the game coming out on Switch, which utilizes only one screen, is probably another factor, but Aonuma also said it was distracting looking between two screens so heavier features were canned. I don't think there was anything at all on the GamePad during the E3 demo other than some information, like how long the demo lasted or something like that.

Those who're planning on buying the Wii U version on disc better check your system's free space...

Not too surprising, the game is bigger than what would fit on a single Dual Layer DVD (which, afaik, is what the Wii U uses). It IS however surprising that the games overall file size is that big though.

The game's overall size of 13GB is actually about 10GB smaller than Xenoblade X, which fit on one disc, though you could download data packets from the eShop (which were multiple gigs in size) to speed up loading. I imagine the 3GB download is likely a similar situation, though why it's mandatory is beyond me.

The load times alone might be reason enough to get the Switch version first.

Alright, dropping a few items here courtesy of Zelda Informer. Yes, they're all pieces of a larger interview, but being split up here makes it convenient.

Obviously we know the game is in fact releasing for Wii U, and will also be the final Nintendo-made game for Wii U, but there were some doubts as to whether or not it would actually still come out for Wii U. I know at one point I started to wonder and fear but it didn't last long. Good for us (or at least those getting it on Wii U), it was never even considered. Speaking of the Switch...

http://www.zeldainfo...in-spring-2016/

So the initial delay was not because of a decision to develop it for their next console. It's interesting there was a point where that wasn't happening, and especially that such a decision was actually incredibly recent. They certainly worked on that port fast. Still makes me think they had the game in a very completed state for a long time, they just spent a lot of time porting it to Switch.

Autosave, eh? We are officially in the modern era, folks! I kid, but I'm sure autosave can be a helpful function. Wonder if you can disable it for experimentation in-game. What I'm more interested in is the confirmation of being able to save at any time. So glad fixed save points are gone. I get it for Majora's Mask, considering its ambitions at the time it was released, and I can sort of understand it for Skyward Sword as it was also your means to get to the sky, but it wasn't needed in A Link Between Worlds. "But they're travel points for Irene!" I mean, couldn't they just unlock on their own once you reach those areas? Seems pointless to me. I want to be able to save immediately instead of having to look for a point to do so if I need to put the game down.

Welp, they're gonna remain cryptic on the timeline, though to be honest I almost interpret his quote as "meh not even we care about the timeline anymore lol." New hypothesis: The entire game's just a training simulation. :tard:

A little background on shrines and how they entered the game, as well as reaffirmation that traditional dungeons will still exist. Hope there's at least a decent amount.

Having a playable female protagonist is not off the table for the future

Also a couple of information tidbits via videos.

No dual audio options, and yet the different languages are apparently all in the cartridge itself, but the only way to change languages is to change your system language. Very... bizarre option, to say the least.

Just a gameplay video featuring Aonuma showing off basically similar gameplay to the E3 footage, but talking a bit more. There's two things in here though that were things we knew, but were reaffirmed. Firstly, Link is explicitly called "Link" in this game, as we knew from the voice-acting, but no idea if this means you can't at least name your file. Secondly, wondering if that old quote of Aonuma's saying you could go straight to the final boss was misinterpreted or no loner accurate? Show no fear, he reaffirms that this is still a possibility, and that you decide when you're ready to head to Hyrule Castle and finish things.

With so many developers and the new engine it would be really nice if they just would use the unused ideas to create another game, no zelda title, just a similar side project that also is fun to explore to have another game at hand. It is unlikely, isn't it?

While I clearly hate it to be not able to save anytime, especially since I want to be able to save the moment I have to stop the game to not loose progress, I kind of can imagine how it would fit to the survival charakter of BotW. To reach a certain point as safe zone needs to survive to that point. And I am kind of unhappy with the auto-save. I understand the usefulness of it regarding battery issues, but I kind of like being not serious and trying things out. Like scouting out things with the intention to not save or experimenting like testing out other stuff at bosses or reaching corners that might be not aimed to be reached and could mean very well certain death. Even more with food and stuff. Not sure I am up to date with this, but gathering food and equipment is not too much fun for me. I am not a very good player. If there is food I hope the difficulty is at least high enough to make it impossible for me to play the game well without using that feature. And it would be a shame if there wouldn't be likelikes and others that feed on your equipment or steal it from you. But if I fail big time I tend to just reload the game and try a better performance next time. Or just explore some other parts of the game. It would annoy me to no end if I struggle against a hopefully difficult boss and fail, but need to restock my resources that are all gone because of the auto save...

I kind of like to be Link, don't want to play as myself anyway. But I am pretty much the only one I know to do so.
