I like the screen. There is nothing wrong with it, but there is also nothing special, but that's no problem. I think link's colors are too bright though.

I wont be changing Link, so you don't have to comment on him. People have already talked about that, but I rather enjoy how link looks. I am a big GB zelda fan icon_razz.gif

Dont take me the wrong way, I love the GB graphics too. (The games are not my top 5 though)

He didn't say that the Link-graphics themselves was bad, he said that the colors they are using are too bright. And I agree, he sticks out like a sore thumb. icon_shrug.gif As if he's illuminated or something.

Oh it's no problem. Link doesn't look amazing, but for me it's fine. As for the screen, I just spent a couple mins on it. Not my best work but I think it looks fine. I've been gone for a couple weeks so this is my little warm up screen. icon_razz.gif

Plus I noticed this thread needs a little wake up call, it's been a few days since anyones posted something. Hopefully this gets people going!

Edit: Robin, the colors are a part of link, whether it's his colors you're talking about it's STILL part of link. I wont be changing the colors. Link will stay exactly how he is. Hell, I wont even add rings, he will stay green the whole game. If that keeps you from playing the quest, that's fine with me. I do things my way, sometimes I will take advice, but more often then not, I leave things how I intended them to be. Thanks for the feedback though!

Calm down there cowboy, I didn't say anything about not playing the game simply because Link looks bad icon_razz.gif That said I don't really play any quests at all anymore, so yeah...

I do also think Link's colours are too bright. It's a simple fix really. Just edit Cset 6 and press 123 at every colour there a few times. The actual tiles are fine. Green is fine too. People are just giving their kind advice.

I understand where you're coming from as well! You're not the first to comment on Link. I've actually changed the colors once, but this is the best I could come up with. I'm not very good with palettes and stuff. I was thinking of using the Minish Cap Link, though I forgot why I didn't. I think it had to do with lack of tiles. This GB Link has a ton of tiles for different things, so my mind was set on it once I set it up.

Hey Mudkipz,

I didn't see your post(s) until today.

I looked at both maps. Without playing the quest, I can only comment on the tiles/combos used.
On your overworld, I think the logs that Link walks through should have a shadow or something else other than bare ground underneath them.
In your dungeon, I would advise to do something to your passageways so that they're not just a wall ending with no edge. At least put a black border at the walls edge. Personally, I would create tiles of a doorway with a shadow underneath it.

I think it's a nice screen; pretty cool if it's where Link enters the Dark World! Looks like Link can go north and west when he first arrives and then later gets the power glove and hammer.
I think the colors look great for the Dark World. Link just might look bright because the Dark World is darker. I don't see a problem with that.

If I must give my critique on this, I'd say you sir, are doing a fine job with the dor tileset. Just don't run into the same problem I did and get all disorganized with your combos and flood your tile pages with useless tiles that your not sure if they are used on an important screen and therefore you dont want to delete them. icon_razz.gif They look good sir!
