P and NP are classes of computational complexity - polynomial time and nondeterministic polynomial time. Basically, NP is the set of yes-or-no problems to which "yes" answers can be verified efficiently, and P is the set of yes-or-no problems that can be solved efficiently. All problems in P are also in NP, but whether P is a subset of NP or the two sets are identical is not yet certain. If they're the same, that would mean that a lot of very difficult problems are easier than we think.

Hey, I made a rom script.
http://saffith.homes...-SpriteBomb.lua
For Legend of Zelda. Made with US PRG1, but should work with other versions. Simple enough: click a sprite and it'll explode. Not absolutely every sprite, but most of them. Requires FCEUX v2.1.0 or above, I believe.

Easier than I expected, though that's a pretty simple one.

That first video just seemed like it would get boring very very fast. Maybe something a 12 year old would enjoy playing- (like I did when I used to sweep through the campaigns on Blizzard games in god mod).

But the second, holy cheese. That makes it an entirely different game! Looks really cool.

I suppose half the fun is in poking around in the game's memory. Hey, I can tell you quite a bit about how Zelda works now.
Also, I found a really obscure feature that ZC doesn't reproduce (and probably won't soon). If you kill ten enemies in a row without getting hit, the tenth will drop a blue rupee as a reward (it might very rarely be a fairy, but I'm not certain about that).

Oh, I made a script for that, too.
http://saffith.homes...wardCounter.lua
That'll make the counter visible. Press select to pause, then press A and you can lock it at ten. Every enemy that can will drop a blue rupee.

That's an interesting find. icon_smile.gif I'm sure if anyone wanted to replicate that in ZC, it wouldn't be hard to script it. icon_razz.gif

But I'll give the script a shot, though I've never used lua scripts before.

It wouldn't be hard to add that much to ZC, but I think it isn't actually so simple. There are two more counters that also track how many enemies you've killed without getting hit, but they're different. One is also increased by something else (haven't figured out what), and the other doesn't stop at ten. I suspect those two affect what your reward is, but I haven't looked into it much yet.

Hey, that's actually pretty interesting. I never realized enemy drops were that deterministic.

Dunno if this is already well known around here, but I came across this little oddity while watching a video on youtube. If you hold left and then press down, you should be able to play snake while watching the video. It won't work with every video, but still, it's pretty neat. It might work by some other means, but that's how I've got it to work. dd, sure, but I thought I'd share that. icon_razz.gif

I have a feeling I'm about to make myself look like an idiot for not realizing this sooner. icon_razz.gif

Oh yeah, I heard about that. I think it only works on videos without annotations. I'm probably wrong though.

Verified. Give the video the cursor's focus, and then hold "Left" for about two seconds, then press down, as was stated. It does work.

Okay, this is kinda funny. At work, my Managers are really easy going human beings, rather than like, .. the Manager type. You know what I mean. It's awesome.

So the newest one, who is technically really high rank and experienced, but is a chill kinda guy, "One of the gang," asks me to do him a favor, and me being the ball of energetic enthusiasm that I am, I run over to him. He's all like "See that? Shads and I got a connection." I'm already just right there, available to help. When he talks about something he wants me to help with, I make it so that I mysteriously appear next to him in less than ten seconds. It's quite efficient.

The most recent episode of this occurred yesterday during an otherwise extremely hectic day. He radios me over the walkie talkies when I approach the front register where he is to do some throw-backs to amuse myself in lieu of the zombies, and I'm already standing there behind him. I radio back "Yyyeeeees?" And he turns around, and leaps three feet in the air. Customers laugh, and he doubles over with shocked laughter.

WAT.

Anyway, heard a good joke today about avoiding the death snetence:

"Do you have any last requests?
"Yes. That I may sing one last song."
"I'll allow it."
"1,000,000,000,000 bottles of beer on the wall..."
