Since I was still feeling up for trying my hand at an FPS, and had been wanting to try it for a while, I got a hold of Metroid Prime and started it up on the Wii. (Original GameCube version, not version with Wii controls)
Remember what I said earlier about sucking at first-person games? Still suck at them. The fact that the starting area is fairly creepy didn't help matters much either. I managed to get to the Chozo Ruins, to the room where it floods with water and some machine starts letting out War Wasps before I died. I fell into the water and couldn't get out before dying, which really sucked because I had nearly full health from the Save Point just a couple rooms earlier.
Also, I am very glad that my little brother doesn't know how to read yet. Kind of hard to play a game and explain what I'm doing when suddenly a scan comes up saying that a Space Pirate died from the removal of his internal organs. I mean, my God, it didn't say he died and then his organs were gone, he died BECAUSE they were gone. As in, he was alive through the whole process.
Considering it's midnight where I live right now, I'm going to have nightmares tonight...

I was in the intro level, and passed a bunch of dead Space Pirates. Scans indicated "Died due to acid burns to face", "Died due to severe lacerations", "Died due to REMOVAL OF INTERNAL ORGANS". And I'm left just knowing that whatever is on this godforsaken ship, I am going to find it whether I want to or not, and it will try to kill me. Not only that, but the game is all first-person view, so it all looks as though it's trying to kill ME.
Not crap-yourself horrifying, but fairly creepy. At least a lot creepier than I thought it would be considering my previous encounter with a Metroid game was Zero Mission. Those games looked rather cartoony, to be honest. I knew Prime was going to go for more realistic, but did they have to go into that much detail? (Don't forget what I brought up about the Space Pirate dying AFTER his organs were torn out of him. I have a very vivid imagination.)

It's a lot harder than the first one.

So I'm going to try again at finishing a Final Fantasy game. I haven't managed to get further than an hour into any of them aside from the first one, even though I have all of them. Any suggestions for which one I should tackle?
My suggestion would be give Final Fantasy 4 a play through.
That is one of the best Final fantasy's Besides Final Fantasy 6 (Aka Final Fantasy 3 on SNES).
