Well, I'll give it a shot, then. I just hope my computer can handle it. Running Arkham Asylum makes my computer overheat and shut down after a short while, and that's on the lowest settings. (Why would Arkham Asylum cause a meltdown, and Sonic Generations just run slideshow slow? I've never had a heat problem with that game, just 3 fps.) If I can't run this version, I'll look for the original one. Other than the ending, is there anything else missing? I'm rather curious as to why it's free, unless they're deciding to give out the original version for free as well.

It's free because it's fanmade. But it has Valve's support (Valve's a really awesome company like that). Not that I'd put it past Valve to give the original away for free though, honestly. I bought the entire series for 10 dollars, and they've given away the first Portal for free on multiple occasions before... so yeah. Aside from the ending for the remake... I'm not quite sure. I haven't actually played it yet (seeing as I just recently beat the original), but so far, everybody's been raving about it.

Currently finishing up my 100% completion for Super Mario 3D Land. Fun game by all means. I love that they brought back the Tanooki Suit!

Well, I took a look at Black Mesa, and it looks like a really big download. Unfortunately, I don't have much space left on my computer, so I guess I'll put off that game for a while.

Since I was still feeling up for trying my hand at an FPS, and had been wanting to try it for a while, I got a hold of Metroid Prime and started it up on the Wii. (Original GameCube version, not version with Wii controls)

Remember what I said earlier about sucking at first-person games? Still suck at them. The fact that the starting area is fairly creepy didn't help matters much either. I managed to get to the Chozo Ruins, to the room where it floods with water and some machine starts letting out War Wasps before I died. I fell into the water and couldn't get out before dying, which really sucked because I had nearly full health from the Save Point just a couple rooms earlier.

Also, I am very glad that my little brother doesn't know how to read yet. Kind of hard to play a game and explain what I'm doing when suddenly a scan comes up saying that a Space Pirate died from the removal of his internal organs. I mean, my God, it didn't say he died and then his organs were gone, he died BECAUSE they were gone. As in, he was alive through the whole process.

Considering it's midnight where I live right now, I'm going to have nightmares tonight...

You picked a good game with a great environment, and yes, it is creepy. Which is why I like it. Sort of. I'm not usually into creepy things but it depends on how it's done, and the Prime series did it beautifully. You'll get used to the controls though, and yeah, it's a bit difficult, so prepare to invest a lot of time into the game. But hey, it's a Metroid game, so you get what you pay for. icon_razz.gif

Well, let's see...

I was in the intro level, and passed a bunch of dead Space Pirates. Scans indicated "Died due to acid burns to face", "Died due to severe lacerations", "Died due to REMOVAL OF INTERNAL ORGANS". And I'm left just knowing that whatever is on this godforsaken ship, I am going to find it whether I want to or not, and it will try to kill me. Not only that, but the game is all first-person view, so it all looks as though it's trying to kill ME.

Not crap-yourself horrifying, but fairly creepy. At least a lot creepier than I thought it would be considering my previous encounter with a Metroid game was Zero Mission. Those games looked rather cartoony, to be honest. I knew Prime was going to go for more realistic, but did they have to go into that much detail? (Don't forget what I brought up about the Space Pirate dying AFTER his organs were torn out of him. I have a very vivid imagination.)

If that gets you afraid, I don't even want to see you attempt Amnesia.

That reminds me! I'm currently playing Metroid Prime 2: Echoes.

It's a lot harder than the first one.

Wii version of Metroid Prime 1 and 2 have nerfed bosses on any difficulty but the hardest, its a crying shame.

Been playing more Fire Emblem 7 beat Eliwood's story. Working on Hector Normal Mode. So many Pegasus Knights! Even at the start. On Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon I defeated Camus and recruited the General at the castle before Arena ginding with the pegasus knights. I also want to promote Norne and Barst. I love Est for her character art.

So I'm going to try again at finishing a Final Fantasy game. I haven't managed to get further than an hour into any of them aside from the first one, even though I have all of them. Any suggestions for which one I should tackle?

My suggestion would be give Final Fantasy 4 a play through.
That is one of the best Final fantasy's Besides Final Fantasy 6 (Aka Final Fantasy 3 on SNES).

Out of the classic tile-based Final Fantasy games, I personally enjoyed 4 and 6 the most. (Mainly 6, far far more than 4) Out of the modern ones, from 7 to 10 (I don't have anything later than that), I enjoyed all of them except for 9. (Mainly because of the skill-learning system) This isn't including spin-offs or sequels, though. I still have 10-2 to play through after a get myself to finish 9. I actually want to try games 12 and 13, I just need a PS3 for the latter one, and I need to actually find 12.

I have been playing Pokemon SoulSilver again. Had to rebuy it, since my original copy was sold when I tried keeping my car. $20 used, with the Club Nintendo code unused! But yeah, I just beat the Violet City Gym. Good stuff!
