A couple of edits here and there.
I really like this. Your graphics in general actually remind me a lot of a 'mini' version of the graphics I'm making for my own game. Love it!

I have a few minor issues though, one being the 'planks' that make up the houses walls. See how the top of them is visible? I think it'd look a lot better if you instead added a bottom border around the roof of the house, so that the roof 'sticks out' over the wall, rather than the other way around.

Also, the palmtrees looks a little flat. I think a creatively-used shadow (perhaps transparent, to cover more ground?) would help solve that issue more or less. Other than that, I love how you can choose the height of the trees, customizeability = awesome. Is this the same tileset you and I were working on way back in the day by the way?

Maybe... yes it is. I remember now, no wait it's not. That's another one that got deleted icon_frown.gif That one was nice. It add nice poles and I lost them icon_frown.gif I do remember you were going to help me on this set but I kinda just left. icon_frown.gif Sorry about that icon_razz.gif

I see what you mean about the house. I'll tinker with it, but I may just keep both because I personally love the planks sticking out. Yeah variety.

Also yes to the shadows. I just wish ZC add good auto shadowing or something icon_razz.gif

Tell me about it XD

Also, don't worry about it, as you can probably guess I've been pretty busy myself so chances are I wouldn't have been able to contribute much anyway xD

Alright the shadows helped a lot and I think I fixed the trees well enough. I tried doing the house thing but I couldn't get it right. If you want to try yourself go ahead but I give up.

Oh I just thought. I'll add an exotic fruit to it. Moon Berries. They are small blue berries that glow in the night.

If the pixels surrounding the bush were darker than the sand (as if it casted a shadow on the sand), than it wouldn't look like the bush was floating above the palm tree, I think.
The shadows work quite well, but it's odd how the shadows under the house are different from those under the palms.

The wooden planks. They look so...flat! I would make slits and cracks, as well as shading icon_smile.gif

It looks crowed in the middle add another palm tree near the top left part of the house. I'm pretty sure that will do the job. icon_smile.gif

Some of the trees look like they were cut down, Maybe you should add tree rings?
Or whatever texture palm trees might have. My opinion differs from Jared, I
like the simplicity of the wood without a grainy texture. I do notice wood grain
above the door however.

Can anyone help me in improving these maps I've made? I don't know why but I'm not comletely happy with the overworld map so far and I would like some advice on how to improve it (sorry about the colours, the map viewer will only show 1 cset at a time...)
Overworld (Forest and Mountain areas use the Mysterious woods and Lybrynna Past csets, the rest of the areas uses the Summer cset)
Overworld
Dungeon 1 (Pits are scripted and the teleporters link to each other (2nd teleporter is in the room with the unlit torch). The room 2 rooms to the right from the enterance is no longer used now due to the pits now being scripted)
Dungeon (Forest Ruins)

Thanks for any help!

My real point of critique for both maps is that you keep using the same tree in the same color. Try making some of the trees a brown, red, purple etc. color and replacing some with a different kind of tree. Otherwise I really think these are great maps. Good job on both of them.

Do you plan to make every dungeon this small though? It's okay for level 1 I guess, but I like big dungeons personally.

Mudkipz, I think it's pretty good. Some of the tiles look a little random, though. For example, take the stone flowers in the dungeon. If I was playing the game I'd think that there's something to them, some kinda puzzle or a way to interact with but they seem to be merely decoration.

I'll try to make the trees a different colour if the tiles will let me (I'm trying to get a red colour for the ember trees in the mountain area. The only colour available however, is a bright red which would clash with the colours in that area). Also, do you have any suggestions on what other trees I could use? The tileset does have a faily large amount of trees, but I'm not sure which ones to use without causing them to clash.

I didn't realise my dungeon was too small. I thought when I was creating it that it was in danger of getting too large and linear. I'll try to make dungeon 2 bigger when I get round to making it.
I've also replaced the stone flowers with shrubs now. The other stone flower obsticles are supposed to turn into cuttable flowers when all of the enemies are killed in the room.

Thanks for the advice!

@Jared - I may add cracks but I like the simplicity as Cukeman said. It's my style. I don't shoot for realism I just make things that I think look good when I make graphics. That isn't really grain, I only put it there to look nice icon_razz.gif

@ Shane - No but thanks. I like it this way. I may add a bushel or something though.

@Cukeman - Those trees are cut down icon_smile.gif
