So, I watched the trailer and it's pretty epic. I noticed something that's probably going to be noticed eventually: This scene in the trailer looks to be the ruins of a temple spring in Skyward Sword. Also the trailer got me thinking, what if the main dungeons are the giant guardian things? So far there's three and I assume there's a fourth, and they all seem to be pretty huge, and it would make sense for them to be connected to those four mysterious giant pillars around Hyrule Castle too. Of course, I'm hoping for dungeons that aren't themed after the Sheikah technology, but I think this is probably the case.

Random speculation aside, again the trailer was epic, probably the best trailer I've seen in a while. Not too big on the voice acting but it was good! I appreciate them bringing in voice acting at least. This game has the potential to be one of the best in the series, but I'll wait until I get my hands on the darn game. :P And the music too, so epic. I also like Zelda's design, glad they're giving her appearance some personality and giving her some actual personality (cough cough Twilight Princess cough cough) and speaking of which, still calling it: this is a child timeline Zelda. *runs*

But yeah, I'm really excited and I'll be getting the Switch version.

I'm excited to play it too but we really need to cut down on the praise before we're sitting here with the game in our hands.

I definitely can't cut down on the praise after watching that trailer though :P

Anyway, that trailer was really awesome and my hype for this game has hit levels that shouldn't be possible :P I really like the direction they're going with this and I really want to play this now. Everything in the world looks so beautiful too. I'm gonna be wondering around this overworld for quite some time lol.

Though I might sadly have to get the Wii U version first, since I don't think I will have enough money to spend for the Switch :v

Re bathing scene: I don't believe it's meant to be fanservicey, she's still wearing a dress for starters, and spiritual springs have been a thing in Zelda for a while now.

Also I don't think they gave the plot away, honestly I don't think it tells us much more than we already knew other than the apparent new location of the Master Sword. There's still a lot of mystery to me.

Is she? I can't really tell that well with the lighting, but it looked more like a towel than a dress to me.

I haven't been following it that much, (Too much delayed to 2020, no Wii U version, console burns down your house and eats your family + dog type of stuff.), but I don't think it was ever revealed that Link at least apparently failed 100 years before the start of the game with a group to defeat this "Calamity Ganon".

I'm decently certain it's the same dress from a different scene in the trailer. ... yes I've been analyzing the entire trailer.

I'm not saying you shouldn't say how much you liked the trailer, I just think assumptions about the game, or things like the quality of its characters and so on is not only speculative, but kind of irrelevant, because we just don't have the grounds to base anything off of. A few trailers and vertical slices of gameplay isn't exactly the most trustworthy source - they are trying to get us to give up our money after all. :P

All I'm saying is that managing your expectations could only benefit you.

Yeah I know what you mean, and that is true. I can't help myself when it comes to things like this though :P

Hey I know what you mean too. I already went out and pre-ordered the damn thing, including the game after the presentation last night. I'm literally complaining about my own behavior here. :P

I'm excited to play it too but we really need to cut down on the praise before we're sitting here with the game in our hands. We're starting to look like the fanboys over at Zelda Universe who seem to blindly praise everything Nintendo does, to the point where they have already crowned BotW as the best Zelda game several times. Game isn't even out yet. Crazy I say! :P

I've liked everything Nintendo's given me when it comes to Zelda, and so far, this game looks like it's giving me everything I've ever wanted, so I feel like I can praise the direction the game is taking from what I've seen.

As far as timeline placement, I feel like we used to have a checklist of places it could and could not be. Now I'm thinking this is going to pave over history we know through time travel and change things. I feel it could take place after OoT in any branch.

You're missing my point then. You were talking about how deep you think the characters might be and stuff, and while I think it's fair to be excited (that trailer was awesome), we just haven't really seen anything along the lines of character development, we don't know these characters other than the basics yet. Not just that, but everything you base these things off on is promotional material - stuff specifically designed to make you feel like the way you feel right now. I'm not saying the game won't be great, and I both hope and think it will be, but I think there's a limit to the kind of ideas you could be getting out of the promotional material, and character development is something we've seen very little of. There's also the fact that most of us are really excited for this game, it's not like many of us thinks it's going to be anything but good, but keeping yourself critical and not buying into the promotional stuff completely is a good habit to have, and it could only benefit you in the long run.

In other words, what I'm really trying to say here is that I would rather go in with tempered expectations and be surprised, than the other way around. I've had that happen a little too often with Nintendo these days, and while I know we don't all agree on this, I don't have to look further back than to Skyward Sword to remember how easy it was to think something looked great only to be severely disappointed by the lacking... everything, that was Skyward Sword.

I've long since lost my interest in almost everything that is Nintendo, and have even been for the most part skeptical over this game. But this trailer in my opinion turned out to be truly amazing. I am sold on this game for sure. It's unfortunate I'm not the least bit sold on the Switch, especially with its unacceptable prices. I don't anticipate I'll be playing this for a couple of years, at least until the system is at a much fairer price.
