The boxiness of the sand tiles realllllly clashes when you have diagonal mountain tiles and curving coastlines, and I think they would benefit from having the same sorta thing going on. I'm also not too keen on the house roofs either but you gotta work with what you've got, I guess? Apart from that, it looks like a natural evolution of Koten's style; it looks really nice.
Post your maps.

Messing around in Firebird:
Kinda looks like Symmetry City mixed with that one river level in Tri Force Heroes, if anyone knows what I'm talking about. Overall kinda cool.

I couldn't disagree more. Given the perspective, I think they're pretty close to perfect.I think the sides and the northern side of the mountains could use some work. As they are they do look strange. Too thin.Yep, it includes tiles from the Koten Advanced pack as well as Shane's custom GB tiles. Those mountains are my own custom FFA mountains

Maybe adding some grass and bushes here and there can make the area look less empty. Other than that, I like what you got here.

Here's two maps from me, a partially-complete overworld in the middle of a graphics change for the mountains, and a Level 1 map. Both are from a game that I think would port incredibly easily into Zelda Classic, just with a new coat of paint. Cookie for whoever can guess what game it is. Here's a hint: Although it's a blatant Zelda clone that predates LttP by quite a while, it actually used LttP's boss key mechanic first.
Anyways, here's the overworld...

And here's the Dungeon...

Been making some more screens recently and the first area of my quest is almost halfway done.

I'm really liking DoR Hybrid and it's actually a lot easier to use than I originally thought lol
Edit: Actually realised a lack of NPCs near the centre of the map. Will add some in there soon, but just pretend there's some people or something ![]()

The white roof lacks detail compared to the other two and the many fences next to each other look a bit odd.
Also the houses position to each other disturbes me in a way I cannot grab, but that is a thing limited to seeing them altogether on the map.
