In Cherrygrove? Try looking for a rock climb spot. Most of the foreign Pokemon you find in trees are either in Kanto. The ones in Johto need rock climb to be reach, to make sure you've been to Kanto.
Huh. Didn't think of that. I know there is a Rock Climb spot, but never thought to use it to headbutt the trees. I thought it didn't matter.

Sorry, what I meant to say is each route has one Hoenn Pokemon and one Sinnoh Pokemon. They're not necessarily exclusive to that route, but each route has one of each.

So, has anyone had the chance to run through some of the events yet? I know some aren't really out yet, but most people have some way around that, right? Personally, I do have an Action Replay and a Flash Card, but we got something really cool at work yesterday.

An "event publisher" or something... I really have no idea what to call it. My boss is the only one who has access to it on his computer, but from what I understand, it lets you select events for the Pokemon games and start publishing them through the stores wireless network for DS' to download. This is probably what they use at the movies in Japan, when you go see a Pokemon movie and get some kind of special event unlocked in-game, if you bring your DS.

Now, here's the sweet thing about this: We can control it. According to the list of events I saw, every single event since Diamond and Pearl is in it, and we can publish the events... whenever we want! So last night, not only did I get my Pikachu colored Pichu, but also the event that comes along with it, which gets you the spiky-eared Pichu, appropriately nicknamed "Spike" by yours truly. Today I'm gonna get Celebi and... well, the rest of the events. I'm happy :3

You can get the Celebii? That's not even out in Japan yet! Lucky. I'm trying to get all the events legally, and so far, I have the Pikachu Colored Pichu (haven't gotten Spiky with it yet though), Arceus (have used him to get Giratina), and Jirachi. I can't wait until the Celebii event comes out. According to Serebii, it also comes with one shiny dog/cat of your choice. Awesome.

This is the legal way o.o... it's just that I can do it whenever I want, instead of waiting for a special date. It's still the exact same way I would have gotten them anyways, if I hadn't used AR or something.

Now, if I got you right, you were saying that the Celebi event comes with a shiny "dog" (I don't really think they all look like dogs, to be honest), but I can tell you that it doesn't. You don't really get anything at all in the event itself, except for the Celebi. (I just played through it... I liked it, btw)

I got some time to look at the actual software today, and it does have more events added than the ones we already know about, but for some reason they're all named "??1" and "??2" and so on... and obviously, it's impossible to get them to work. I'm guessing that once they're revealed by Nintendo, or perhaps even later they will be re-named into what they're supposed to be. Also, the Celebi event was, according to a little "log" window in the program, unlocked just one week ago. This probably means that it too was a "??-something". I'll of course check this thing every single day, and once it says anything new, I'll be sure to tell.

Okay, I'm guessing the dogs/cats/whatever they are are three of the ??- events then. All I know is that they're supposed to be released in Japan at the same time as the Celebii event, and you can only choose one of them.

You know, on the subject of said animals, I kind of think Raikou looks like a sabertooth tiger, Entei looks like a cross between a dog and a lion, and Suicune looks just like a dog/wolf. However, at first glance, they all looked like dogs to me, so I always call them the dogs, even though only 1.5 of them look like dogs. icon_razz.gif

I called them "dogs," too, until I found out they're actually called the "legendary beasts." So that's what I call them, now. icon_razz.gif

Hmm... I've never in my life participated in a Pokémon event. I am, however, gonna start once they bring Mew to the U.S. Cuz everybody loves Mew. icon_deformed.gif

Ya, Mew looks neat, but the event does nothing but give you Mew. I'm much more interested in the Celebi event, which (SPOILER) let's you fight Giovanni.

My Meganium has Jolly Nature so I'm guessing having that nature boosts ATK a notch doesn't it?

My Proposed Moveset:
* Body Slam
* Seed Bomb
* Swords Dance
* Earthquake

Jolly raises Speed, I believe. Actually, in HG/SS they made it so that when you're viewing the stats of a Pokemon, it shows you which stat is raised and which is lowered; The one highlighted in red/orange is up'd and the one highlighted in blue is downed.

I knew that about Celebi. I didn't say I wasn't only gonna get Mew, just that I'd start with him, unless a different event comes first. I dunno.

...

Ya know what? Ignore all that. I'll start with whatever event Pokémon comes first, but Mew and Celebi are definitely on the list. icon_deformed.gif

... You're not talking about Pokéathlon stats, are you? I thought those had nothing to do with battle stats...

On a side note, I went to the Lake of Rage today simply because I was running all over the place trying to hatch eggs, and I found that the water level had been lowered. Anybody know if this is new? I don't seem to remember that happening in the original. O_o

No, no. If you look on the battle stats, look at the name of the stats. The one that is up'd is in red/orangish, and the one that is downed is in blue. (This doesn't pertain to neutral natured Pokemon such a Docile and stuff.)

Huh? I never noticed that. I'll head back there and see if it's the same on mine.

Anybody else think Brock is a complete lunatic? "It itches! Itches! Itches!" He's like the Giygas of Pokemon. icon_razz.gif

Edit: I always wondered how Red got his Pikachu so high leveled. Now I know.

I'm pretty sure the lake lowered in the originals too... if I recall correctly, it's on Wednesdays... and seeing as it's the same day today, I guess they didn't change it.

Well, I do see it now. Only, it's an extremely slight difference to me. So slight, I can't even tell without looking closely. O_o

I started to wonder if it was a certain day event, but I don't remember it lowering in the original either... But that could be because I never went back there except to find what's-his-name of the Day Siblings and get the item from him. icon_deformed.gif
