Not just the shirts, though. the toys too. The toys look freakish; Twilight doesn't even have bangs, Fluttershy's expression is just creepy, CELESTIA IS PINK (WTF), Applejack's hat is pink (I repeat, WTF), Applejack has a truck (also Pink). Hi, Hasbro, meet Applejack. She hates the color pink. So stop giving her pink sh*t.

And I've actually heard the originally intended demographic complain about the fact that Celestia's toy is pink.

Oh also Pinkie Pie comes with a mouse instead of an aligator. FFFFF-!

Well, they where never made for you people anyway.

The people in charge of making toys where most likely ordered to start designing products before the show was even done, therefor it would be very hard to design something show accurate. Of course, there is no excuse for the pink celestia, but I think that has to do with hasbro saying she should be on the toys, but even the promotion department disagress and make her white for all the adds.

Hopefully after season 2 toy lines come they will have at least a few fans on the design team to make it more show accurate.

The toys should be better, though I feel this way not so much for the benefit of the adult fans but for the kids, who know just as well that Celestia isn't pink or that Spike doesn't stand on all fours.

Well honestly, Hasbro is so used to having 100% control over the designs, but THEY LET LAUREN FAUST DO THE NEW DESIGNS, and the new toys began AFTER the new show started running, so it stands to reason that these toys should follow the show. Hasbro has never been in a position where their "animated toy commercial" has actually had a self-justified existence, where the show could exist without the toys and still be popular. They don't understand that they need to step back and let the creative minds do the creating. Lauren Faust has been making kids's shows half her life, and she knows more about what kids enjoy than Hasbro's board of directors will EVER understand.

After seeing your picture in TMS's thread, this made me immediately imagine you walking into a Toys R' Us and buying a Pinkie Pie ACTION FIGURE, to use your all-caps term for it. Well, the image was rather odd and I was distracted from it relatively quickly by the mental image of the cashier's reaction. I feel I should tell you that I am wearing a huge grin as I type this rather cheeky post, for the thought of this interaction amused me quite a bit.

Cashier: Did you find everything okay?
Rather Hip-Looking Teenager: Yeah, perfect!
Cashier: [Looks at toy] Er...I s'pose you're buying this for your sister?
Teenager: Nope.
Cashier: Niece?
Teenager: No, it's for myself.
Cashier: ...
Teenager: Problem?
Cashier: [Bags the toy and doesn't speak another word]

Alright, I finishes season 1! ^^
Now, here is what I think of the whole season...



Then first season was enjoyable! I loved the designs, but I was surprised that Princess Luna never showed up again after episode 1. Hopefully she will be appear a few more times in the next season, and better yet, make it surround her. But I still like the characters that did show though. Applejack is my favorite character due to her personality, words, and the way she does stuff. Her sister Apple Bloom is cool too, but if I had her to stay a night at my house, I'd probably think twice.

I laughed so loud when Fluttershy lost it on the final episode of season 1. She bursts through the door with the animals, and...

"I'LL MAKE YOU LOVE ME!!!"

I laughed so hard. I mean the other episodes she's extremely shy and sensitive, then the next thing you know, she's this pony who is forcing the animals to love her. Ah, sweet personality changes.

And also, I hope the next season doesn't involve the ponies growing up a bit more. That'd just make their personalities change. I mean, I doubt they will grow up in the next season, but I'm just saying the characters would loose their uniqueness if the next season skipped a few years.

And now, here is my favorite character list! From most favorite to least favorite...

I'd rate Princess Luna higher, but I don't know much of her real personality since she mostly appeared as Nightmare Moon in the first episode. Because she said sorry for everything after she stopped being Nightmare Moon, so she might have changed the evil personality to a good one mostly.
