I think it is cute how some people are already talking about how the villager is OP.

Random thought for Smash: Robin should've had Morgan skins. ![]()

There's a neat gameplay and competitive summary of Smash 4 3DS here (warning, spoilers):

I think you and Adem were interpreting my post wrong. You're very welcome to let whoever the roster is be your source of hype, but what I'm saying is, it shouldn't be the ONLY reason. In fact, it was my source of hype as well. I was talking about how people just assume their hype is ruined because one single thing that you were hyped about was ruined. If it is indeed ruined, then think about the other things, and see if "hey, this seems fairly interesting, there's something to be hyped about."
Also, HG,
Spoiler
At least for me, apart from the roster, Sakurai hasn't really announced anything to be hyped about. There's no new modes or anything new that even interests me. I was hoping for some sort of Adventure or Story Mode still even as DLC or some surprise despite them saying there was none.
Even though Brawl's Subspace Emissary and Melee's Adventure Mode had issues, I wouldn't of enjoyed the games as much as I did without them.

I'm so used to having custom stages in Brawl, that not seeing the Stage Builder in this one feels like a major letdown.

With any luck, the Wii U version will still have one. Or maybe we can unlock it or otherwise achieve it somewhere.

I agree with HylianGlaceon. There are barely any new game modes, almost all of the characters are available from the start (And I read that every character can be unlocked in less than a half hour :/)
Sure, the game will be a blast. But if there's nothing really new besides the characters, there's not much to be hyped about.

Oh. What about Event Matches? There any of those in the 3DS version? I'm starting to be a little fearful that this entry is in fact a little watered down. Or... Perhaps the 3DS version is meant for more on-the-go fighting and gaming, and the Wii U version will be more in-depth like previous entries. I hope so anyway. As fun as the main game mode is, I also bought it for all its side modes and challenges, and I don't want those to go away. ![]()

And I read that every character can be unlocked in less than a half hour :/
First of all, I keep hearing this number getting smaller and smaller. I believe it's getting increasingly exaggerated with every telling. It went from "I unlocked the characters in 2 hours!" to "you can do it in 1!" to "If you follow this very specific guide, you can do it in half an hour!" It may be technically possible to do it in that short a time (although I doubt it), but everything I've seen has suggested it takes at least 4-5 hours playing normally. Still much shorter than past games, but it also has its advantages for people who really want to play locked characters.
The game doesn't have an "adventure mode," exactly, but Smash Run mode is meant to fill that gap. It doesn't look too different from Melee's adventure mode to me, (although the objectives are very different). It looks almost like a mini-subspace emissary without a real story, but it looks like it promotes exploration and I think there's a degree of randomness to the layout. And it has a variety of enemies from the different characters' games. It could be fun. ![]()
I guess it matters more to different people, but personally I played Subspace Emissary once to unlock characters and never went back to it. It was enjoyable, but the exclusion of an adventure mode doesn't bother me much if it means getting more characters and a better balanced game overall.

I found a wonderful site, which lets you pick your characters and their colors! Of course, the site has character spoilers. Go to at your own risk.
Here's mine:
I like how the entire bottom row has characters in black. You can also see my love for the color purple. ![]()
Link in his Skyloft outfit ftw!!
