You really, REALLY won't like the boss guarding the Supernova Armor, then.

On another note, since you're around halfway through the game now, I remind you: DO NOT SAVE AND QUIT BETWEEN YOUR ESCAPE FROM THE WALL OF FLESH AND COMPLETING THE CORRIDOR JUST BEYOND IT.  Dying is fine, F6ing should be okay, just DONT SAVE AND QUIT.

This hint will make sense in the coming weeks.  The problem is there's a critical bug where saving and quitting at this point can move you outside of the area in which you get the next critical item, but without any way to get back into it.  I'll fix it for the final release, but your version still has this issue.

Shouldn't the picture in the top-right corner change when you get the blue armor upgrade?

Part 31

The game continues to taunt me with things I can't have.  Hopefully, I'll get the last laugh.

This is either something I can't do anything about yet, or the enemy is getting smart and giving me false information.

Well, if these guys are going to leave all this stuff just lying around, I might as well make the most of my good fortune.

I have to wonder now; what exactly affects the base gun's shot sprite? Because I've been noticing as Power goes up, it seems to be getting bigger and at 11 Efficiency is when it became one large shot with two smaller ones flanking it. Is it just those stats, or do you need some kind of undisclosed total between the Power, Speed and Efficiency? And is there a stat cap for each aspect of the sidearm?

Things happen to your sidearm as you collect upgrades, yes, and the cap is 25 per attribute. Each of the three upgrades does something independently. As for what they do, just keep observing and you will see. :)

I'm no scientist, but I don't think icicles should exist in an area that is perpetually frozen.

Reality is unrealistic.

C'mon, you're better scientists than that.  Given that the temperature in Libra appears to be below the freezing point of water now, but icicles imply flowing liquid of some kind, what does that imply?

HINT: There are at least three explanations; two rely on mundane, real-world ideas, and the third relies on the strange nature of the Libra zone as explained by game lore.

The warmer temparatures of Cancer and the existence of a geothermal area (Taurus, I'm guessing because it's a BULL, you went with BULLSHITTING the theme?  Kinda brilliant if that's the case.), and lifeforms in the area that may easily have an above freezing body temperature makes sense enough of it for me.

No, more basic than that.  The three explanations are a prior difference in temperature (your idea follows that), the icicles not being made of WATER ice, necessarily, or a difference in pressure.  The latter could be related to the space distortions in the Zone.

Can something truly be called an upgrade when it makes something less useful?

The term for that is "downgrade".

Edit - also C-Dawg, is there ANY chance you'll get rid of those things that freeze the screen?  That looks incredibly annoying.
