So, update regarding the meteor shower. I couldn't really see much honestly. The sky was pretty cloudy and it wasn't that great to see the shower. However, I did see a few meteors here and there, and Joel and my little sister saw the International Space Station flyby, which I wish I could see, but missed it >_>

Either way, it was alright I guess, I just wish the weather was better to see more awesome stuff in the sky.

Hey, so I mentioned a while back in here that I saw the Milky Way galaxy and tried to take pictures of it. Well, I have pictures, but they didn't really come out as expected. My dad took 4 photos of it, and I just tried to brighten them up to see if I can see anything. They all look pretty similar but the brightened up results definitely look... interesting.

So here's one of them looking exactly the same as when I took it:

Dark Image Ahead

I then proceeded to brighten it and got this:

Brightened Up Image

I got to be honest, I don't really know what that random dark patch in the image is all about, but it definitely looks strange. I assume it's probably just the dark patches of cloud near the Milky Way centre? Either way, it looks pretty interesting.

Scientists are reporting that Mars appears to have not only frozen water but flowing streams of salty water, at least in the summertime.

They say their latest observations "strongly support" the longtime theory that salt water flows down certain Martian slopes each summer.

This is a really cool discovery. I'm very excited to hear more news about this. I'm also looking forward to what else we can find on this mysterious planet :P

Also, did anyone get to witness the Supermoon Lunar Eclipse that happened last night? I caught a glimpse of it for a few minutes or so, but damn it was pretty awesome to look at. It was quite dark red and it looked like something out of a horror game or something lol.

No.

Yeah, it's quite a bummer Australia wasn't able to see this event, but hey, there probably are more rare events in the future where you can witness it.

I wanted to see the eclipse , but it was cloudy and where I live would be seen very late .. so this time I had to give up to see it

A volcano can change the color of a moon eclpise ? of course it can!

How was the last eclpise ? a little darker that usual, sign that there was a bit of "volcanic ashes" in the upper atmosphere, probably due the eruptions of last years.

In this image you may see 2 old eclipse that show the difference between a "clear" eclipse and a "dirty" one

The one of 1992 was so dark due the strong eruption of volcano Pinatubo

You may read the full story of the old eclpises here

and here the last one

That's pretty interesting to know about actually, and when you mean "last eclipse", you're referring to the lunar one that just happened a few days ago right? I'll also probably take a good read out of those two stories in a bit.

Ooo this sounds interesting. Can this be seen throughout the whole world or only in the Northern or Southern hemispheres? I might try to spot this.
