How do I get to the door on the other side of this room?

Just finished level 8 with white sword. The magic sword would be nice to have before level 9. I know where the magic sword is, but I think I need the gold arrow to get it. Hint as to where it's at?

 

BTW, Amazing piece of work, Lightwulf !!!  Already looking forward to your DX version.  Also, nice tribute to CastChaos who is one of the premier quest makers, imo.

 

@spelunker - There are a lot of walk thru walls and floors in that dungeon.  It would be easier if you already have the lens. Where you're at, try walking near the walls to cross.

I'm still at school, but hopefully I'll have time after getting home to work on the bugs recently found.

in seafarer market, in the house with the old lady who talks about the lighthouse and the old man who talks about the underworld, i get frozen talking to the old lady.  happened twice now.  i think i have the most current version of the quest, and using 2.5.1 current version.

I'll check on that.  Thanks.  I've had problems with that one in the past, so it looks like I still have some work to do on that screen! 

 

Not sure if it's the same one, but there was an inescapable NPC for me too, using 2.5.0.

Lejes, can you remember which NPC?  I can't fix the problem if I don't know where to find the problem, so any hints you can give me as to which NPC that was would greatly be appreciated.  Not sure if it's the same one that justin mentioned?

 

 

Found another combo placement error.

 

Anyways, Level 8 is looking really great! Easily my favourite dungeon so far.

(level 8 comment) Thanks!  It took a long time to complete it, what with all the custom graphics and multiple floors and everything.

 

(key) Short answer: from another floor.  Long answer: Search that floor and the ones above it to find stairs that go back down a floor or two.  Eventually, you'll get to it.  I'm not at home right now, so I can't remember how exactly, but I know there is a stairway on the 7th floor (besides the center one) that leads back down a floor or two.

 

I'm still looking for the lens.

Spelunker, do you have the whistle from level 7?  There was a certain pattern on the floor in level 7 that you had to use the whistle on that is present in the Sewer Dungeon.  Also, if you haven't played Ocarina of Time, you can ask someone or look up online what Link did at that same spot in the Bottom of the Well mini-dungeon (of which this is a recreation, down to the exact same fall-through floors).

If you still can't figure it out with those hints:

You first have to get the Boss Key from the lower level. (It's in the middle of some boards and you just have to find the right boards to walk on to get it.)

After you have the Boss Key, return to the top floor via a ladder to the west. Exit the door to the south, return to the big loop, and make your way around the loop to the top middle of it. You'll see the Triforce symbol there. Stand on it and play the whistle, and a door will open to the north.  Follow that to the boss room and beat the boss to get the Lens of Truth.
(Yeah, I couldn't make this dungeon an exact replica of the Bottom of the Well dungeon since this was made with version 2.10. I should be able to remedy that when I make the DX version in 2.50 and can use screen state carryovers.)

Thanks Air Luigi... Got it.  You're right ... I normally manage with the hammer as a substitute when available.  Slow and painful, but it works.

Found the lens, now I just have to find the golden arrow.

I found the Serpanto entrance to the Ancient Ruins, and I'm unable to go past the entrance. I must need to do level 9 first. Where is the entrance to level 9? I've looked high and low (underworld). There's an area I can't access in the underworld that is apparently accessible from the Ancient Ruins. Otherwise, I've been everywhere, but I can't find the main entrance to level 9!

@zckrazee:  You know, the time that I beat my quest with the Red Ring and White Sword, I used the hammer a lot.  It has about the same power as the Magical Sword, plus the ability to damage darknuts no matter what.  I also found that the Silver Arrows have the same attack power, though are not as effective as the hammer.  The only downside to the hammer is the delay in attack; someone can hit you with a fireball before your hammer hits its target.

 

@Spelunker:  Not sure if you were asking for this or not, but the Golden Arrow is located in level 9.

 

@arieltap:  Good job at finding the Ancient Ruins, but, as you said, you can't enter until after level 9.  If you visit the Mayor of Lost Traveler Town, the knowledgeable Sage Shane, for 30 rupees he'll tell you where to look.

If you still can't figure it out:

It's near the northwestern corner of Underworld. Look for Spectacle Rock; it looks identical to the one in Zelda 1. Bomb in the same place that you would've bombed in Zelda 1 to find the main entrance.

... but don't expect everything to be the same!

in the library, lost travellers town.  i can't get upstairs on one of the versions of the room.  the room with the guy facing with the book on the floor, stairs don't work.  the version with the robed dude beside the stairs, and two people reading at the table works just fine.

What is in the room in Level 5 with the flashing question mark on the floor?  I am short one key and not sure how to move on.  Thanks.

@discipleofweb:  Well, if you're short one key, what do you think is hidden there?  Look for the oddly-colored blocks; there is a hue difference that should make them stand out a little.  One of the blocks is a pushblock and the other is a fake block that is the pushblock trigger that opens a stairway.

Yeah I found it eventually. It was in the most obvious spot. *facepalm*

 

Level 8 beaten and I gotta say, I was kinda disappointed I didn't see a boss anywhere. Would've been really cool to fight something right at the top of the lighthouse. Oh well, still marks my favourite dungeon so far, and it has the best dungeon theme so far. I fell in love with it lol. In fact, I love it so much that I'm using it for my current quest project XD

 

Anyways, I've been wondering, where is the Wand? O_o

Am now in the Ancient Ruins.  Just a question/observation  re: level 9 before I proceed further---  After I beat Ganon's pets I "fell" into an empty item room and got stuck and had to F6.  What just happened? 

 

Lightwulf, as I'm nearing the end of this fantastic quest, I want to thank you again for hours of fun and adventure.  This is easily the best one I've played among recent submissions.  Challenging, highly playable, and technically sound. Exploration offers abundant help for the player.  Nice touch on acknowledging known super players and quest makers.  5++++
