I dont get it. Did you literally design this with him or you simply stole his theme to make those in your style?

Pretty, none the less. I like the octorocks and cute swords.

Nah,just looking at his stuff so far and then critiquing made me want to take a crack at it XD.

Swords can be cute, o.o?

Not the Link sprites, but those item and misc. sprites are cute. Simply NES, low res but yet they deliver the full effect of visualization pleasure.

I guess I'm a glutton for practice...I can't believe I actually sat down and worked on these all day XD.

I will be very glad to add shadow detail. Imagine that.

I definitely enjoy the look of that~  It's not too often you see iso games these days, so this is always welcome.  Good luck expanding on it~

Isometry should be easy, with the only exception being dungeon design. I believe I will go for something like Solstice

I mean, how the hell to tackle push blocks? That simply cant exist on isometry. It will be interesting to find a replacement for p-blocks, something dungeon like that can deliver the same amount of gameplay

I like this style of sprite. Not mine, but it's pretty and inspiring

I've always wanted to make something isometric in ZC, but I could never conceive of how to do it.  I suppose that the biggest difficulty will be to set up 'screen-scrolling', so to speak, presumably through warps.

EDIT:

Koh, I really enjoy that style.  Please, for the love of all that is holy and un-, finish that sprite.

Yes! Warps are a must, unless you dont want to stay on a grid, then you in theory could just free path it, if it makes sense. as long as the line up doesnt be stupid, and make you go on 4 different screens just to walk one diagonal path

Can Link even see where he is going with those big shields.

Good job otherwise.

Geometrically speaking, it should be possible, but collision detection might be weird.

It's like Classic and GB had a lovechild.  I must be the dad.  So...who's the mother?  MS Paint?

Ha! Nice to see a bit of my spriting has gotten you recently into NES stuff. I'm really liking how everything is shaping up so far. And the more I see this stuff, the more curious I am as to why the original LoZ didn't take a nicer graphical route like this. I dunno...I guess it's because back then, pixel art didn't quite have it's groundwork? Also, I challenge you to try and make your own NES palette! There's no "official" one because the NES's video output was different for every television. You can make one here: http://bisqwit.iki.f.../nespalette.php

The potions are a bit off... the black line showing that the flask is full makes them look more like shovels, to me.  Maybe filling them up a bit more and using a black line further up would avoid that?

Still, pretty darn neat stuff you have there.

an upgrade to my graphics. This time around, the 8-bit palette is massive, allowing high detail. more coming!
